    Got a new monitor today

    The open box is the one time I buy their silly warranty. I bought a pair of speakers once (I think they were about $250 for $400 speakers as well) and I paid ~$35 for a 10 year warranty. Don't know why the warranty was so cheap then but it was one of the better buys I have made.

    I like that the IRS puke only let you write off medical expenses that are over 7.5%. $%$@^%^ I have ~$7,800 in medical expenses for the wife and a good portion of that is going down the toilet. Both parties TALK about health care but both screw you at tax time.

    I am afraid your math is incorrect, the smaller cord will not result in more current. The heater is just a passive resistor and will simply operate at a lower voltage and produce less heat with smaller gauge wire. I think the wire in the cord on the truck is 16 gauge. Bigger is better though...

    Charging system question

    The batteries should be at 13.8V on their own and the alternator should charge to 14.2V. Sounds like maybe on of the cells in the batteries is dead and the alternator has to pull it up. If you have an 02 it is probably about time to think about new batteries anyway, that would be my first guess.

    Sonnax is cheapest at $50, many like. Transgo Tugger a bit more at $100 and more work to install but does more for the tranny. Valve body ~$250, many like but basically tugger with valve body work done by someone else. Rebuilt tranny ~$3,500 the best but most expensive.
