I had squirrels chew some wiring by the starter solenoid and the WG actuator solenoid. Oh it also got a vac line over by the fender too. I got off easy though, neighbor across the street paid over a grand for the dealer to replace their injector harness.

I just placed D-con next to passenger battery and in the valley. The next day when I popped the hood to remove it the d@#* thing was right there.:cussing: I tried to grab it since I had gloves on but couldn't. The neighbor caught a couple(IIRC) in a live trap from animal control. I haven't had any other incidences. I've used moth balls when they got in my storage shed. Dang critters!

The rat that was chewing my wires.............actually built his nest in the engine valley.

I cleaned all kinds of crap out of there. :cussing:

I'll give my nod to peanut butter baited traps too.
That "Rat Zapper" looks entertaining tho, got any videos of it in action:eek:

Dang, I'm having flashbacks to growing up in the mountains now. Usually, the dogs, and the cats tough enough to survive the dogs, kept such events to a minimum. Occasionally tho a porcupine would come in and feeling somewhat invincible, would start chewing up the radiator hoses and belts, etc. While the dogs barking didn't deter them, it did alert me to the need to dispense a little lead poisoning.

-Porcupine is tough and stringy, but after awhile in the pressure cooker, it's not too bad;tu

I had a stinking mouse get in the blower, he could not keep up in the squirrel cage though. He was a bit hammered when I found him. Unfortunately he had built a nest in the A/C evaporator and plugged it all up. I have also found nesting material in the valley of my PSD and acorns and crap in the air filter box. I keep poison in baby formula cans with about a 1" square hole cut in the top. That seems to be working. I cannot seem to catch any with the traps. So far all of the mice I have seen have been too small to eat enough poison to hurt my dog so I am not that concerned about using the poison. I have had a bird or something try to steal it though, I found beek ?sp? marks on the platic top and the can moved around.

Nope that doesn't work. I tried that method and for every squirrel I shot three more came for the funeral. After they ate all the insulation out from under the hood(over $100 to replace)I gave up and started parking inside the shop. Friggin little squirrels ain't nothing but a cute rat and there ain't no good rat except a dead rat.
