You will not find an ATF that is diesel approved. Transmissions do not use diesel. Sorry. :)

I probably need a lesson in ATF, however isnt the mercron V a synthetic?
and Ford says not to use mecron V, right ?
so is Ford saying not to use a synthetic or is there something else that is the problem with mecron V?
It seems to me I heard that the synthetic fluid does something to the clutches.... ?? but thats probably a mistake.

Someone will swing by and correct me I am sure.

its not the Synthetic, thats bad its the additives for the mercron V that will wear down the parts in your Auto Tranny.

MERCON V isn't required to have synthetic in it.

For a good Synth ATF you may want to try AMSOIL Torque Drive.
It does not carry the MERCON V rating, and is some very good fluid.

MERCON V can agitate the glue that the clutches are assembled with and cause them to come apart, obviously if the clutches defragment, clutch material will clog the Valve body, cooler, and everything else resulting in a toasted tranny.

BTW, first post. Looks like a cool site, glad to be here.

Welcome to this site. I think you will enjoy it here and it looks like your knowledge of the real reason for not using Mercon V, you will be an asset here as well.
