Help Needed 16 Inch Dually Tires

Jesse I'm sure you would be happy with the Toyo's or BFG's since they are both good quality tires. I have never owned a set of Toyo's but have heard lots of good things about them, as for BFG's I have always had good luck with them. Cheers, Patrick.

Help Needed 16 Inch Dually Tires

I'm thinking you are going to have trouble finding that size in a E-rated tire. I know Interco tire (aka super swamper), Cooper and BFG all make 255/85's but they are only D-rated. (8 ply) Personally I have never had any problems running D-rated tires on a SRW or DRW. Just my 2c

    Bully Dog shift kit

I installed one in the original tranny in my 02. I didn't really notice any real gains after installing it though. If your tranny is in good shape I'd say you would be better off to go with a trans-go tugger kit or an complete aftermarket valve body. Just my 2c

    4wd Launches

My vacuum pump always ran for a few minutes after start-up then shut off. I'm not sure on the air escaping from the top of the pump. I had troubles with my 4wd not working properly on my '02. I replaced the inner hubs seals and o-rings twice on both sides (because they were leaking...

    4wd Launches

With the truck not running and the ignition on, cycle the 4wd switch from 2wd to 4hi and you can hear the transfer-case motor shifting. If that turns out be ok next I would check the vacuum lines to make sure they are connected, and see if the vacuum pump on the right inner fender is working...

    Fuel Filter(s)

I am not sure about the newer 6.4's as I have yet to work on one. I'm sure someone will chime in soon that knows more about them. $150 doesn't sound that bad, as long as the filters are included. Cheers, P.

    Fuel Filter(s)

Wow! $150 labor for 10 minutes work if that. They are not hard to change at all. One is under the hood and one is on the inside of the driver's side frame rail about center of the drivers door. If it's a 6.0L that is. You do need a few odd size metric sockets to do it properly though...

how many miles do you have on your 6.0ltr

I also just bought my 6.0L late last summer. I had it brought to Canada from a California Ford dealership and before it left the dealership it had the headgaskets done, the turbo cleaned, and a replacement EGR all under warranty. It had 50K miles when I purchased it and I've only put 5K on it...

    Question Trans Upgrades?

You could install an aftermarket torque converter, updated/upgraded complete bolt in valve body, shift kit (something like a transgo tugger kit) to name a few. My original 4R100 tranny (2002 F350) lasted me 160K miles before it finally gave up the ghost. I didn't plow with it or pull...

    Question Oil Pan Repalcement

I am also not aware of a 2pc oil pan for the 7.3's. Is it leaking? If it's not leaking as of yet I would just cover it in grease for now, trying not to disturb the rust and wait until it starts to leak. I sprayed mine with a can of multi-purpose grease (I also touched it up before every...

    lift install

I have used the Superlift HD braided brakelines before and they seem to be better quailty than Skyjacker and some of they others. Both make them in various lengths to fit the Superduty model trucks. In my eyes...Body Lift = cheap way out, Instead of a buying a proper suspension lift.

    05 /07 bumper to 01

The grill on the 05-07's are a different shape at the bottom therefore the gap between the bumper, grill and headlights would look a little funny. Other than that if you have a complete 05-07 bumper (bracket and braces too!) it should just be a straight bolt on. Personally, if your going to...

    lift help

From what I have expierenced most leveling kits make the ride stiffer due to the fact they add a spring or small leaf pack. If it were me I would either go with a shackle and hanger kit or complete 'softride' spring packs and then add a little bit taller block in the rear to level her out. I...

best way to install axle seal

Their is a proper tool to install the new seals onto the axle and then stays on the axle snub to help install the seal into the spindle. I bought one from the local Snap-on retailer when I did mine for $75. I'm sure that you must be able to rent them from a local parts store though.

    ABS/Master cylinder symptoms

I've had an abs unit go bad which left me without any brakes for a couple of seconds, then a full 4 wheel lock up, then no brakes again. Scary feeling. I have also had several master cylinders go bad also, mostly on older stuff without abs though. When they went bad I either had a really low...

^^^I agree. A faulty ABS system should throw a code, possibly a brake light, and/or check engine light.

    Weak parking brake

I have never had any problems with mine rolling away but I do find that they are always out of adjustment. Are you sure your e-brake shoes have lots of meat left on them? It is also common for pivots (under the little rubber boot) at the top of the backplate to partially seize/ completely...

    8 inch lift

I originally installed a 8" skyjacker 'softride' lift (all spring) in my truck and it rode far better than it ever did stock. Later on I wan't to go bigger and installed procomp's 2" shackle and hanger kit. I got lucky with 8" of lift and had no vibes at all. I shimmed my carrier bearing down...
