    well, the only thing i can figure on the frames not being identical is that my truck reads miles in kilometers and is stamped "made in Canada". i'll try adding a bit more gap filler in there and hope it dosn't snap it again... unless anyone knows of a better solution?

    you think it's the water pump and just just the gasket? what are some other effects of a bad pump? BTW, thanks for the tip on the "right tool". i despise getting neck deep into a project to find i've got to hitch a ride for undisclosed parts or tools.

    the milage is based on an average as a daily vehicle commuting an average amount going to an average job and doing average things while there. it's just a ballpark range i guess. KBB is what most dealerships and private parties use to price vehicles for resale. it's kind of become a hub.
