Anyone know what the weight rating is on a 1996 factory receiver?

Mine has too many coats of paint on it to read. I am going to have to install a 18" extension in mine with the new camper and the extensions say:

Load rating: GVW 4000 lbs. Tongue 400 lbs. - with weight-distribution hitch GVW 7000 lbs. The limiting factor is the capacity of your hitch. Using a 2" hitch extender will reduce your hitch's overall capacity by 1/3.

My boat with trailer and gear runs about 3000/250 so it will be under the 4000/400 of the extension but I don't want to break the factory receiver. Your typical aftermarket Class IV receiver is rated at 6000/600 so that would make it 4000/400 with the extension. I am not too worried about the tow rating as much as the tongue weight, I don't want the hitch to hit the ground. I am going to run Lateral support safety chain assemblies like the superhitch system just for some extra piece of mind.

I could go with a Superhitch system but I figure why spend the $800 if I don't need it. Another option is the Titan V but it is also a bit expensive.

Mine factory trailer hitch that was on my 02 was 500TW/5000GTW and for weight distributing 1250TW/12500GTW. Most of my receivers including my 10 drop have a rating of 500TW/5000GTW. I recently upgraded my hitch to the newer factory ford class V hitch with the 2 1/2" receiver. (I have a buddy that works at the local dealer so it was a freebee)

That would put me at 333/3330 so we would still be OK. A guy on the truck camper forums said his 95' has a sticker rating 600/6000. Anyone else with a OBS know?
