Heres what i replaced the stolen stereo w/....
Its "paired" w/ my bluetooth phone...It automatically
mutes the car audio & does a RINGTONE to let you
know you have an incoming call.

if you make or rec'v calls the entire audio system in the truck
becomes a "speaker phone"

That thing looks sweet. One question, what do you do if you have people in the car that you don't want to hear your conversation? Can you disable the speakers at any time?

trapper you just turn off the bluetooth/registration and
talk on the hand set.

its kinda over kill, since many cell phones have a built in
speaker phone (although the quality is better w/ my car
audio).

looks cool bush.

stereo's sure have changed over the years, it use to be just a few knobs, and a screen to let you know what is goin on. (channel, disc #, RW, FF)

yu gotta have a degree to operate today's technology.

the last pioneer (DEH-P860) had knobs...even those were
multi directional, spin, toggle (left right up down) and pushed in...
more like a freekin joy stick.

im not crazy over this ONE knob thing...but it works...having owned
a previous LIKE version the learning curve is shorter on the new on...
but i STILL have to have the book for some things.

best feature is the pink noise generation & spectrum analyzer...place
the special microphone at the "right positon" (i place it on the drivers
head rest...hit a combination buttons and close the door while it
does its thing...sets up the 16 channel eq, sets the time delay, frequecy
slopes & the sub woofer level (freq. phase & lvl)...it does an fantastic
job of setting things up or at least getting it CLOSE.

you can even load your own photos/images for backgrounds etc on
the display...

yeah you can set a ring tone so when an incoming call comes in the
car audio rings and mutes the music...'soon as you see the phone number
(and the name, depending on the phone model & its level of integration)
you can decide to answer the call or reject it.

either way when youre done w/ the "phone" the radio automatically
returns to where it left off <before the call came in>...cd music, mp3,
tuner...and it returns to the volume left that the "music" was set at.

basically you set the audio levels independant of each other...so
your really not messing w/ the volume (although you can adjust it)
when you switch between phone and music(s)

DEH-P980BT (retails for 570) 2yr warrenty
DEH-P9800BT (retails for 550) 1yr warrenty

if you already HAVE a pioneer head unit w/ a PBUS
(network) connection you can add the CD-BTB100 BLUETOOTH ADAPTER
and get simular results.

P-Bus controllers

SOME Pioneer CD controllers offer built-in P-BUS Technology, a
high-performance digital communication network. These controllers
are distinguished by the letter "P" in the model numbers (such as
the DEH-P980), and control the P-BUS-equipped devices.
All P-BUS controllers let you add devices to an auxiliary digital input.

if youre not familar w/ the PBUS from pioneer look this PIONEER Accessories link
to see the devices you can add (w/ a simple cable
connection)...usb devices, ipod interfaces, cd changers,
mini-disc changer, xm or sirius tuners.

w/ the PBUS you can add up to FOUR external devices...pbus is a DIGITAL
connection allowing the highest quality sound possible.

w/ PBUS you could have multiple cdchangers (they make a 6 disc & 12 disc
changer) or you could have xm AND sirius tuners...mix and match as
you wish.

that's crazy. i love it. i'm an audio/electronic fanatic so that it basically a dream machine. lock your truck this time!

dude im not stupid...my truck is ALWAYS locked...they missed THOUSANDS
of dollars of other stuff...have a look at my picture/links...JL Audio amps,
radar detector, gps...

educate yourself before you go pointin' fingers...youll discover just
how vulnerable the superdutys (99-present) are...ford cut cost in
the construction of the truck (door handles) and the thieves are
hitting pay dirt because of it.

its not just ford though...unfortunately fords a bit easier than
gmc & dodge (which are NEXT in statistical numbers).

the media hasnt helped any by advertising how EASY they are to get
into...now even punk kids (who wouldnt necessarily think about it)
can do it w/ a screw driver borrowed from daddies garage tool box.

AND i blame the manufactures for marketing the keyless entry like
an ALARM...its nothing more than a glorified lock actuator...

no one is immune from the lazy low life opportunist who would rather
take advantage of folks who have a job then to get a job themselves !
