Where to buy 2008 differential cover?

As long as it's API GL-5 rated, you can use it. It means it meets minimum characteristics for oil testing. Even Mobil 1 is GL-5 rated although it might far exceed the minimum tests.

    "HELP"

The one thing I seem to notice here is that some guys try to hot rod their trucks to become as fast as street cars. Our trucks were never were intended to be like this and of course things will break. This is why I have a supercharged 94 Mustang GT. It will blow the doors off almost...

Do you need the friction modifier even though synthetic oil is slippery as all heck?

Anybody running Duralene from United Oil?

You can use the motor oil if it meets the latest API CJ-4 specifications for heavy-duty diesel engine oils . Check the bottle. If it says CJ-4 compliant, you are good.

Where to buy 2008 differential cover?

Walmart only sells 80W90. :( I am assuming that 18,000 miles is enough time to break in things (diff, engine, etc.) and I want to switch over to synthetics for a long healthy life. Is Royal Purple gear oil really purple in color?

Where to buy 2008 differential cover?

So the next question is--- Where to buy inexpensive 75W140 synthetic gear oil? Autozone is $16 a quart for Mobil 1 and since you need 3.3 quarts thats $64 bucks alone for oil. I only spent $65 on the diff cover WITH longer screws included!

Where to buy 2008 differential cover?

Isn't there some kind of blasting the cover to polish it? I know sand blasting wouldn't do it but I have heard that walnut shells can polish when blasting? It might not be a high lustre like polishing but it might offer some improvement.

Where to buy 2008 differential cover?

Look at any air cooled engine and you will see fins, especially on the heads. This allows air to move through the fins rather than over a flat surface. I am not sure how much extra heat it will dissipate but it surely has to be better than the flat steel cover. IMHO, it also looks better too!

Is it ok to use Synthetic oil in a 2004 with 80,000 miles

I only have 18k miles on my 05 X and I still use regular 15W40 Shell Rotella. At 20k miles I will assume the engine has broken in and I will start to use synthetic myself. I plan on sticking with Shell Rotella though.

    Which ATF fluid for TorqShift?

Mercon SP is the only fluid that should be put in your transmission. Mercon SP is synthetic.

Is it ok to use Synthetic oil in a 2004 with 80,000 miles

From what I understand Shell Rotella 5W40 is synthetic. Shell Rotella 15W40 is NOT synthetic. I am not sure what trans you have (manual or auto) but if it's an automatic then you must use Mercon SP which is already synthetic. The rear end uses 75W140 and I use Mobil 1 Synthetic there...

    Accufab Power Elbow

Other than EBay, who sells these? I checked the site sponsors sites (ITP & Oilburners) and they don't carry it. Neither do Summit Racing and Jegs.

mounting compressor & horn on 2002

I mounted mine on the passenger frame rail underneath the passenger seat. I mounted the horn behind the front bumper in the passenger wheel well. The horn faces down so any water that might get in will drain out.

Headrest intall in third row seat in Excursion

Anyone install headrests in the third row seat of an Excursion? My kids are getting bigger now and I often see that when they fall asleep their heads are lopping over the back of the seat in the third row. It also concerns me in case we get rear ended. I know headrests will help lessen...

    New Excursion Paint Scheme

Also notice the Ford, Excursion and XLT/Limited tag has been removed. The Ford tag is recessed so it would have to be filled with something (bondo, fiberglass). I like the Excursion tag on the rear door of my X. I am proud to own the last year model ever made...

    BLUE SMOKE AND LOWEND TORQUE

From what I have read, the check engine light will only turn on for EGR problems in California emissions programs. I would disconnect EGR and see what happens. I seriously doubt a dealer would void your warranty because the EGR plug fell off! :)

    BLUE SMOKE AND LOWEND TORQUE

Have you checked your engine oil level? I have always known blue smoke out your exhaust to be oil entering the combustion chamber. It could be leaky piston rings, valves or the injector could be leaking. If your oil is low then something is leaking inside somehwere.

Where to buy 2008 differential cover?

I ordered mine from Diesel Manor. They sell it for $54 plus $10 bucks for shipping. My total was $65 bucks. It comes with the longer bolts also.

    Which ATF fluid for TorqShift?

Mercon SP is synthetic. SP uses Group III synthetic base stocks, compared to Mercon and Mercon V, which can be formulated with Group I and Group II synthetic base stocks. In case you were wondering, the biggest differences between SP and the two older Mercon specs are the viscosity...

Where to buy 2008 differential cover?

I want to change the stock diff cover on my 05X with the finned one that comes with the 08 F250's, F350's. I looked on ebay and all I see are the crazy expensive Magtec covers and cheap chrome covers. Anyone have a part number so I can search the web? Any of the vendors on the site sell them?

    Changing the oil on 6.0

I wouldn't use a drain valve. The threads to the valve extend beyond the inside of the pan so you don't fully remove all the oil. I bought a Fumoto drain valve and installed it on my X. At the next oil change I turned the lever and all the oil came out - OR so I thought. For kicks I removed...

    HID headlights?

I have the 50W HID from HIDfoglight.com in my X. They are 6000k in color (pure white). They are about a year old so they are HID low beam, Halogen highbeam. The BiXenon was not available when I bought these. In a nutshell, they are awesome. They illuminate so much more of the road. When...
