Is it ok to use Synthetic oil in a 2004 with 80,000 miles

I have a 2004 F350 with 80,000 miles on it. Is it ok to use Synthetic oil ? I am using Rotella 5- 40 right now. What would recommend for my automatic transmission and diffs as well. I like Synthetic. I also have a module, 4 inch exhaust, and an AFE airbox. I run it hard sometimes and place a lot of importance on my fluids.Any ideas?/ CHEERS MIKE

From what I understand Shell Rotella 5W40 is synthetic. Shell Rotella 15W40 is NOT synthetic.

I am not sure what trans you have (manual or auto) but if it's an automatic then you must use Mercon SP which is already synthetic.

The rear end uses 75W140 and I use Mobil 1 Synthetic there.

You can use synthetic in your truck with no problems.

I hope so, I'm switching tommorrow to Amsoil 15w-40. I have 35k on my 05.

I only have 18k miles on my 05 X and I still use regular 15W40 Shell Rotella.

At 20k miles I will assume the engine has broken in and I will start to use synthetic myself. I plan on sticking with Shell Rotella though.

Make sure the the oil will take the pressure that your hydraulic actuator system operates at. I know of one syn oil that won't operate at that pressure.
