Help Needed Vibration (rubbing) at 75mph exactly!

The pinion is the last thing to come out of the diff housing, it is a major tear down. It often can result in a new gear setup(meaning backlash and gear mesh shimming) Might want to consider a complete new gear set, with that much labor, you're only out the price of parts for a new rear diff...

    Steering Slop Revisited

Technically, they are called the upper and lower drag link, with an adjuster in between. The upper draglink is short, and the lower draglink is very long. The lower draglink actually attaches to the knuckle(ie the big part you pressed the balljoints into) The upper drag link attaches to the...

ARB Ford 10.25 Full Float Air Locker

I used to go 4 wheelin with a guy who has these in his early bronco. They seem to be great lockers, but they do have a problem with the o-rings that seal the lockm mechanism inside the diff. Also the fitting that goes through the housing cna leak. other than that, lockers are way superior to...

Question Failing Water Pump Causing High Tranny Temps?

Sweet! Always start with the cheapest and easiest first. Looks like that solved it this time. You can have the cooling system pressure tested to see if you can narrow the leak down. Could it be a heater hose, or coolant fitting up there?

2 questions > Using oil/u-joint connecting axel to wheel

If you took it to a reputable shop, they would probably be quoting you to do both sides? You need to clarify this, because, if it is for both, then that is a great price. If it is just one side, then it may be a little high. I am assuming that they would also do the ball joints at the same...

    Fan clutch

Your a/c being on can turn on the fan clutch, without the engine getting hotter. Don't forget about the condenser in front of the radiator that is releasing heat also!

Question Failing Water Pump Causing High Tranny Temps?

I think to put it in lamans terms JR, the temp of your trans fluid is not causing any damage to anything in the trans at this point. The first thing to go in a high heat situation is the fluid itself, then and only then could damage occur to the trans itself. The fluid will keep damage from...

    spongy pedal and unknown device

The best way i've found to bleed that "last little bit" of air out of the system, is to open all the bleeders and just let them gravity drain until all bubbles stop. Start w/those brake guards, then go to the rr wheel, then lr wheel, then both fronts. Just remember to keep the master cyl full...

    A/C issues

Sounds like a bad controller to me, off the top of my head. If the a/c is controlled by the body ecm, it sounds like it's going wacky

HELP - Need a little hub advice

Thay are self locking to a point, and they are a one time only type of deal. After you take it off, you're supposed to get a new one. However, i have used a chisel and hammer and hit the "crown" (at the top of nut, farthest away from the rear bumper) in a couple places to "crimp" the nut...

    Engine shake idle/in gear

First you've got to figure out if you have the hpx line, it's an aftermarket add on. and second, then you would have to check for a blockage in the line by removing it and blowing thru it i suppose?

    Engine shake idle/in gear

Are you talkin about the idle in gear, or in park? 600 seems a little low for park, mines closer to 700 in neutral. check out the wiki for the fuel system mods, their labeled "fuel system mods 1 and 2".

    Help Needed Wierd gauge action

Ok all you 6.0 guys, I have a quick question about my brother in laws 2003 pssd. Obviously it is a 6.0,a automatic,4x4, and a 4dr long bed, and he claims that the dash gauges have gone wacky a couple of times. Once while he was sitting still, with the engine idling, he claims the gauges...

    weird thump under feet

Don't forget the shocks as well. I've seen alot of thumping noises coming from the shocks, that get misdiagnosed. If you have more than 75,000 miles on the truck, they need to be checked. Crank on the mounting bolts and give them a squeeze, the bushings can shrink over time allowing them to...

    4x4 Squeek (Vid)

Side note of a side note, are the wheel bearings tight? If there loose, they could be making the noise.
