First... I have blocked off my front hubs w/ a rubber boot. I turn my truck on and sometimes it blows out the face (where i left it) and sometimes out the defrost (which I understand is the default mode). If it comes out the defrost I can turn the A/C off and then back on and it will come out the face. Any other mode ex floor it will blow out the defrost. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but all the above is when it is set at 60 degrees. If I increase the temp to 70 degrees sometimes I can get all the buttons work perfectly fine. Hit floor it goes to floor, face goes to face ect. I know it sounds weird but any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW I have taken the rubber cap off the line and checked it with someone holding their finger over the and it does the same thing so I know its not there at the box. Thanks again.

Go to the "User CP" at the top of the page.....scroll down, look on the left and select "Edit Signature". After you type in the trucks description make sure you click the save button at the bottom.

Sounds like a bad controller to me, off the top of my head. If the a/c is controlled by the body ecm, it sounds like it's going wacky

Is the controller the whole cluster in the dash or is it something that plugs in the computer somewhere? Noob to all this and learning constantly from all the help. Thanks again.

Still haven't figured this thing out. Driving me crazy. Turn A/C on it comes out the defrost, turn off then back on it comes out the face and sometimes face and defrost. If you push any of the buttons it just automatically blows out of the defrost.

You have the Classic Vacuum leak. I will bet you have Automatic Four Wheel Drive. The vacuum lines to the hubs are usually the cause. It defaults to defrost anytime the vacuum goes out.

yes i do have auto 4 wheel drive. I had that problem already so I blocked off the lines going to the hubs and that cured my problem. Now its about a year later and this issue has risen.
