I finally got started on my boat recovery winch project last night. I thought I would share a picture or six of my progress.

Yep if you look down a little lower on the front you will see the sharp angle iron welded the full length. They will cut through thin ice like butter. :D

this might seem dumb,
but why do you have a winch on the boat? is it for crossing mud puddles or pulling logs off the "river trail"

What is it they say "a picture is worth a thousand words"? We run very shallow water on the interior rivers of Alaska and sometimes it gets a little too shallow. I can run in about 2" on step but still get hung up from time to time. If you look at the front you will see a Rope-a-long hooked up. I am thinking that with a electric winch the "recovery" will be much quicker.

Phantom even makes a wheel kit for there SportJon for when the going gets tough. Too bad the rest of the boat is a piece of junk though.
