Well I have been thouroughly enjoying reading the threads of this site. Wow you guys have a lot of information. I have a 2003 F-250 XLT Diesel Super Duty and love it. I installed a Bully Dog Triple Dog and an AFE air intake about 8 months ago. Both improved horsepower and driveability more than I expected. Now the problem. I was receiving recall notices for about two years and just dismissed them because I was afraid they would change the performance of my truck. I finally relented and removed my bully dog and took my truck in for the O6E17 recall. What a mistake. Now I am hearing a blow back sound when I take my foot off the throttle. The EGR wont let the truck run so I disconnected it. took it back to the dealer, they couldn't find anything wrong so replaced the EGR valve. I had to disconnect it again just to get to church the next day. Should I just leave it disconnected or buy a new one to fake the computer? I have read previous threads about the same thing but don't understand the idea about installing a fake EGR. again everything was fine until the recall. Sorry this is so long. Have to go eat Easter dinner, will return in a few hours.
