    Help Needed Truck is possessed...

Sounds like a serious short somewhere, allowing the fan to run,and now the starter to be engaged on it's own. My first thought would be the ignition switch(not the key tumbler) and/or wiring going to it. I would change the ignition switch first, checking the wiring carefully for any meltdowns...

    HPOP oil reservoir, oil change?

Thanks Bob, that clears it up for me. I appreciate the info!

    Announcement well....happened again....

You guys are really staring to scare me, all this talk about shooting blanks and minivans. I'm gonna have to get out and start trucking hard to get the testosterone flowing again. Can't hardly think about both in the same moment myself.

    Super high mileage superduty value???

Just so I'm clear, I think YOU did really well, I just wonder about the previous sd owners who trade for 1/2 ton chevys! Why would they do that? I could see it if they were trading for a duramax, but a gas motor?!

    fuel pump

Never done it myself actually, but there is talk all over the place on here about a plug in the top of the resevior, allen head I believe. I'm sure someone will chime in and set us both straight. If the oil level in the pan gets too low,as I understand it, the pump can be "starved" for oil,and...

    HPOP oil reservoir, oil change?

Lol, that makes total sense! Now the new issue is, there is a screen in the old trucks that isn't in the later model trucks? Is it a problem if it's in there? It sounds as though you're saying that it is needed, but if it has sludge on it....... Just curious, seems you know you're stuff...

If it doesn't effect the driveability at all, I wouldn't worry about it. I just unhooked mine to try to open up the exhaust flow a little more, plus I didn't need the Jet landing in my driveway in the morning!

    Question Gear Reduction Starters?

Good call! Let us know how it is. Switching over to a gear reduction starter in the pete made a world of difference, and it's got a lifetime warranty too!

    Brakes anyone?

Sometimes just getting the right pads will make all the difference in the world!

Any chance of TTB knuckles on a D60

Not sure about the knuckles, but the calipers are reasonably cheap and super easy to change. My vote is just get new loaded calipers for the 60,and start your conversion on the right foot. Way to go on the conversion by the way, that TTB is junk in my opinion.

    popping noise

Don't forget the shocks as well, those bushings like to shrink over time and cause a slightly lose situation, you can't move it very easily by hand, but over bumps in the road it makes noise. Just give them a little squeeze with an impact gun and see if that helps. Good luck!

    fuel pump

Seems reasonable in one way, I've heard alot of talk about the injectors needing 500psi of pressure to fire, 300 is way low if that is the case. One thought though, I know this may seem silly, but you did check the oil level, both in the pan,and in the hpop's resevoir right? We all know these...

    Help Needed Truck is possessed...

Seems plausible if the short was maintained for a long period of time, to melt the wiring and connector even if it's a solid state controller. Excessive electrical use by any device will cause overheating of the weakest link....

    HPOP oil reservoir, oil change?

I just want to say, that it all makes sense to me, except one thing. What is all the sludge that these guys claim to be removing? I have seen many engines apart and running that have a sludge built up on the interior parts, could there be a problem with deposits/contaminants settling into the...

    Brakes anyone?

Did you have big tires on your gasser as well? The extra mass and rolling resistance of big tires can be a little decieving, and can change the starting and stopping characteristics of big vehicles, not to mention the extra weight of the powerstroke under the hood. These trucks have 4 wheel...

    Foil Delete?

We must now clarify, it "seems" like it gives you more power, because it looks cool. Just like your truck always runs better just after a good wash. But on a dyno......

What makes you think that it is cycling? Could be just stuck, I unplugged mine, and haven't missed it one bit. I've heard stories of the valve sticking or fluttering, and giving driveability issues.

    Super high mileage superduty value???

I have to ask one question, why does the guy with the sd want your chevy? Does he know something you don't? If he's done the math on the two, you would expect that he wouldn't find it a very good deal to trade down, unless he has a different agenda. Your stretching yourself alot to pay off this...

    Steering hard sometimes

Been dealing with this for years, ford p/s pumps are terrible for this. The best thing I've found is to put an additive in it, i use lucas's ps additive. Once you get this in it, it all but stops the "sticky" wheel issue. fwiw

    Help Needed brakes locking up

Could also be something to do with the hydroboost as well, evey time i've stepped on a brake pedal with no power assist(when it should have it) the pedal is hard as a rock. I'd say you need to check the hoses as stated above, the inner lining can "peel" off and block the fluid from returning to...

    Taking longer to start?!

What type of glow plugs did you use when you replaced them? The general conscensus around here seems to be use only motorcraft glow plugs as well. If you SURE the batteries are good, and the connections are clean and tight, then I would go with the reccommended gpr, if that does'nt do it...
