IMO I wouldn't be worried about the mileage. I know it scares a lot of people away just because, if it's been maintained it has at least another 200K to run. As far as being easier to sell than your Z71....I'd say probably not. To the average joe 212K looks a lot better than 600K. Good luck!

Yea, i can see the 212k looking better.. but the bluebook/nada/edmunds values on the 2 are about 2-3k between the 2... with the PSD being worth more even with the rediculous mileage... just not sure what to do.... is it possible if he changed the fluids religiously every 4-6k miles that the truck could still be in pretty good running shape?.. it had a reman'd tranny put in last july...

High miles

Alright i think we have discussed this enough, now where beating a dead horse, opinions vary from person to person so it's up to you. The fact is that your truck now the z71 is not worth as much as the superduty, you going to be either paying the difference or financing it so if your trying to pay off your motorcycle then you might want to hang onto the chevy even though it kills me to say it. My opinion is mileage is just a number, i'll keep my t444e untill 500,000k and maybe more we'll see.

U must be missing something every time u read my posts... I don't want either truck.. I want the cash from selling one of the 2 so i can pay off my bike... I don't intend on keeping the truck very long... 3-6 months tops.. and not drive it much either.. I drive (i know iknow) a 08 chrysler 300 with the 2.7 v6 in it for gas mileage on long commutes. I want to have the best chance to get around $3500 after selling.. I know the Super duty is worth more so I figure I have a better chance at selling it vs the z71 at the same selling price..

I have to ask one question, why does the guy with the sd want your chevy? Does he know something you don't? If he's done the math on the two, you would expect that he wouldn't find it a very good deal to trade down, unless he has a different agenda. Your stretching yourself alot to pay off this bike, and it just seems like alot of effort with very high risk. Just do what most of us do and pay it off the old fashioned way, with payments and patience. I'd hate to see you get stuck with a dog that needs repairs,AND a bike payment. Jmo

Like I said if he has kept the oil changed, and the engine taken care of, I wouldn't be scared of it at all. Check the SD out, see how bad it smokes on a cold startup, if it shakes bad etc etc.

Sometimes people just want to trade down. That's the reason I have my SD now. I traded my 2000 Silverado Z71 and my 2003 Yamaha R6 for my 2000 F250. I only had about 8,500 in the two and traded for a 12,000+ truck...and to top it off, the Chevy had 182K miles, the F250 only has 136K. I don't think I did too bad.

Just so I'm clear, I think YOU did really well, I just wonder about the previous sd owners who trade for 1/2 ton chevys! Why would they do that? I could see it if they were trading for a duramax, but a gas motor?!

Well I went and drove it yesterday.. and it drove suprisingly good... no smoke at all.. under load or on start up.. shifted solid.. very weird.. body was pretty tore up though... and that 600k number still worried me..I'm looking at another today that has 325k on it and they guy is considering my truck and a colt commander .45 1911 i have.. its in much better shape... and i figure an $800 gun is worth the 300k miles.. hahaha.. thanks for the replys everyone.. great people here

I recently bought my 2000 E350 7.3 with 756,000 for dirt cheap!
SC DMV appraised the value for tax reasons at $3,100.
I deff paid less then that, but still had to pay taxes on $3,100 dammit.

My E350 is in pristine condition! never been in any accident, no scratches, paint still looks new and runs like it had 10,000 miles. Yes, it has the org untouched motor, It was extremely well taken care of,,, obviously.

Just had to say...
