I have a 1999 ford F-450 (7.3). And the other day I was dirving down the road and noticed that the truck would not go over 65mph. And then it was going slower and slower with the pedal all the way down. Pulled over to check the filter and stuff and noticed that i was leaking fuel from the bowl drain valve. I got the leak to stop got back in the truck and it ran fine. After about 5-10 miles it started to do the same thing again. So i pulled over to check if it was leaking and it was not got back in the truck and it took off ran fine again. Unitil another 5-10 miles it started to do it all over again. And kept on doing that till i got to my destination. Changed the valve in back of the bowl and the fuel pump still does it. What else could cause a problem like this.

Have you checked the fuel filter? Do you get any smoke with the pedal all the way down? How many miles on the truck? Any mods?

I have checked the filter and it is good. It blows black smoke. It has about 270,000 miles on it. And it only has the edge evolution programer on it.

If the oil is fairly new I would check the ICP & IPR DC% (oil hot)...You may have an IPR o ring or an injector O ring bad (or two)...Check the ICP sensor , look for oil leaking from the sensor....

Maybe boost leaks or map sensor prob too.....

You'll need to do some testing.....

It is possible for the connector to come loose. I would put the truck back to stock before conducting any testing. Do you have a boost guage? If so, how much boost are you seeing? Also, check all of your intercooler boots and the line between the MAP sensor and the spider for any boost leak.

I think I found the problem I drove the truck to my shop and the check engine light finally came on. And the code said that it had some kind of injector harness malfunctioin. So I removed the pasenger side valve cover and the harness was a little loose so I think that was the problem. Thanks for all the help and sugestions. I will update you as soon as I get the new harness on. Once again thanks.

Injector harness failure is fairly common on the 7.3L. Hope you got it fixed :sweet

Well the crab harness did not fix the problem but did help other stuff. It is still doing the same thing. So I got tired of messing with it and took it to ford see what they tell me.
