Hey guys,
I am new to this forum, and wish my first post could be a positive one. I recently purchased an 06 F-350 with the 6.0 and torqshift (90k miles). The engine has the ARP head stud kit, but other than that, the truck is pretty much stock (in regards to drivetrain). I am also running a mild tune (40 hp).
Yesterday while getting on the interstate, the truck went into limp mode, and the tow/haul light started to flash. I pulled the truck over, and turned it off. Upon restarting the truck, everything went back to normal. I continued home and did not have any more trouble.
This morning I went to my local diesel shop, and they checked the computer, which showed the transmission "missed a shift" which caused the tranny to go into limp mode. Afted my mechanic took the truck for a test drive, he noticed a slip between 4th and 5th gear, and also noticed a shutter when the truck was put into reverse. Also, the truck takes about 5 seconds to engage into D or R when taken out of the Park position.
I am leaving the truck parked untill my mechanic can look at the transmission on Monday. What I want to know is whether anybody has any experience with this type of trouble, and how much $$$$$ I am looking to spend to fix this problem...I am expecting the worst, but hoping for the best! Any advice/imput would be greatly appreciated!
