Torqshift problems...

It was serviced not too long ago, and the fluid is where it should be. I don't remember the grade of fluid, but it is Amsoil and the service was done by a powerstorke specialist.

These symptoms are fairly new which leads me to believe it is an internal problem.

When you had the trans serviced did they drop the pan & replace the filter? If so, the filter may have come loose and dropped down, just a guess. I haven't worked on this trans before, I retired from Ford dealer in 99 back then it was E40D. good luck

Schaeffer ATF and I now have 63,000 and it's still
doing fine, and most of you know that my truck pulls a big load.

these transmissions are very susceptible to shudder issues


Dave the filter on these is in the front frame area the internal element is a screen so standard fluid change is a heated flush and frame mount filter change

I guess it could be any number of things...Ill find out tommorrow when I drop it off...

It is quite possible the thing was fried when I bought the truck. I am hoping for the best, but expecting the worst...If a rebuild is needed, I will upgrade it so I can really turn up the wick! Ill try to make the best out of a bad situation
