Starting Problems in the Morning

I have a 2002 7.3L SuperDuty F250 with nearly 300k miles. Sometimes in the mornings, or if I haven't driven the truck in a day or two, about two seconds after I start the truck, the engine will sputter and die. On the second start attempt it will start a little rough, but then after about 5-8 seconds will run fine. I think that it has something to do with the fuel supply. When the truck has been sitting off for too long is when I have the problem, but once it gets going it is fine. Is there anything that I can do to fix this so that it has plenty of fuel on the first attempt?

Change the fuel filters. That is a very good place to start to improve your starting problem.

10-4 on replacing the fuel filters. Should I also replace the o-ring/gasket that seals the fuel filter that sits on top of the engine block?

Yes.............the orings should come with the filter.

Check yer air filter too!

I had same problem - solution was to change air filter.
