i have both 4r100's (7.3 (f250) and 6.8 (Excursion)) now the 7.3 dipstick broke and without thinking about it i threw it away, my 6.8 which is in the Excursion is currently not running, rod is about the leave the chat, so it is down for the count, I thought to myself why wouldn't that work? so i took it out of the 6.8 and put it in my 7.3 and it didn't even read, apparently they are different, i know the tranny's have little differences but the dipstick? anybody have any insight on this and yes the 7.3 is at the correct level, i check it everytime i raise the hood, it doesn't bleed red, but the truck sure does bleed black. if someone could post the length of the dipstick for a 7.3 4r100 2wd extended cab, 8ft bed, no power, a/c i would greatly appreciate it, and google was no help
