take a visit to the dealer and ask them there should be a SN Cutoff for the newer style HPOP that hopefully will show up in their computer

I thought model year build dates started in august of each year which would make mike's technically a '96 truck?

new model year starts in september wich makes mikes truck a late 95.almost 96.

mike may not need the preoiler thingy as his is a late 95.

mike if you take your hpop off an look at the gasket surface on both pumps you will see a smal hole with a silver ball in it.thats the check valve.if both hpops have it your all set.if your stocker dont have it then you need the tank setup thing.

I have been running for almost 6 months without a pre-oiler, so it is not a huge problem, it is just a bit harder to start when it has sat for more than 3 days.

Good luck!

So youre not getting drainback in a real quick period of time then? It would suck to shut it off ad go into the store for an hour and come back out and have to crank like a mad man to start it.

Nope.. takes 2 or more days. 3 days and you can pretty much be sure it has drained.

I just set my chip to high idle, kick it over, let it die, start it again and off it goes.

Ok, here's what I came up with after many, many calls....
These are the engine serial numbers that have different front covers. I could not get the years just the Serial numbers, sorry.
216545-375548 (I assume 96-03)
216544 & Below (I assume this is the 94-95)
Hope this helps a little. And again, I can't verify this right now but I'll keep checking so If you know your serial number of your motor, post it and we will see if these serial numbers are correct.

High Pressure Oil Pump (Includes F81Z-AA IPR valve; uses F4TZ-A gasket)
(Ford) F4TZ-9A543-BRM (engine serial no. up to 201680)
(Ford) F6TZ-9A543-ARM (engine serial no. 201681 through 99)

The serial numbers you came up with dont jive with the ones on JOATS part number pages. I would assume that the -BRM HPOP is for the 95 and below and the -ARM HPOP is for the 96+.

But those numbers are off by 15000 units.
