Ok have been looking and thinking it is getting time to change the tranny fluid. The truck has 132k on the meter and everybody I talk to says no don't change the fluid because I'll start to have trouble. Is this rumor or not? I don't know if the previous owner ever had it changed but I don't want to have any trouble but the fluid is starting to turn to a lighter color. Thanks for the help ya'll

I first changed the trans fluid at 30k miles which at the same time th Sonnax and Tricumulator went in,no negative results from changing the fluid.

Changed it again at 66k miles and flushed the trans fluid(at home). No negative results, shifts alot better:sweet

Now I know that there's been cases when a truck owner took their truck to a dealer which performed the fluid change and flush that resulted in backwashing crap thru the torque converter/valve body which killed the transmission with all the debris.

For a transmission as simple as the 4R100 I prefer and recommend it be done by the owner,it cheaper and you know you did it right.

What I have read on post is the theory that if it hasn't been changed at the recomended intervals and is then changed at higher miles it will lossen particals and cause problems.
