I have removed the big blanket snapped to the underneath of the hood? Is it used mostly to muffle the sound of the engine? I will probably put it back for the winter to help keep the engine warm . But for the summer time I find it really keeps too much heat under the hood. Does anyone feel this may cause a problem. :thanks

PS what a hassle changing underneath fuel filter:eek:

That frame rail mounted filter is nothing short of ......STUPID ! The engineer should be flogged or made to change them all for us for free!:roflmao . I got my diesel bath yesterday  . The external trans filter was surprisingly easy to change , no muss no fuss, 2 minutes. As for the underhood blanket well its debatable as to whether it causes a long term problem or not .....likely not. But my personal preference is to lower underhood temps as reasonably as possible. But hey ...I live in Miami . :sweet
