Is this something I should be concerned about? We have everything back together and have flushed the coolant system, but when doing the test drives we are noticing a boat load of white smoke that does dissappear after about 5 minutes or so, but when we start it back up later, the smoke is there again.

Is this normal? Remember, we had diesel getting in the coolant, and everything has been changed....

Injector cups, new O-rings, new glow plugs, new under valve cover harness, new ends on the main harness. We did not replace the injectors, but I never had smoke like this until today.

I know, I know, some of ya'll are gonna say replace the injectors, and I may need to but would like to postpone that ($$$) for a couple more months.

Should I be concerned about the smoke or will it dissapate with time?

There is no miss, and it sounds so much better!

Outside temps today have been in the low 40's, right now it is 42.8, wind chill is 41, with 100% humidity. It has been raining all day.
High today was 43

White smoke is normal until the engine has reached operating temperature. Especially if your ambients are in the lower 40's. Keep an eye on your coolant level, if it is growing or disappearing then you may have cracked a cup when you were replacing them. If your coolant is normal, then I bet youre OK. Try plugging the truck in for a few hours prior to starting, see if that reduces white smoke output.

i would watch the coolant ,but i think it is just smokeing because you just did injectors.still have air in the system and what ever you did get out of the cyclinder before putting the injectors back in.give it a few days and watch it.mine smoke for a day or two this last time i did injectors.

I am hoping the white smoke will dissappear, but now hubby just informed me that it is now leaking oil out the back of the turbo...the turbo charger pedestal assembly?

What in the world has caused this and how in tarnation do we fix this one?
Lord have mercy!

Hubby's research says that can cause excessive smoking......

Now more research....

Here is a pic:

I tried to downsize the pic but it is not working.
Where the oil is coming out of is that threaded bolt looking thingy.
I dont really know if that is the correct name...but oil is streaming out of it when the truck is running now. I don't think it is the entire pedestal assembly, but that bolt thingy. I think it is an outlet pipe, to the exhaust?

Any help?

Pull the turbo. Gut the EBPV and plug the Accuator(sp) hole. No more leak and you don't need the damn EBPV anyways!:sweet
