Glad yers turned out good too. Had mine done about a month ago... as others have said.. the Pre-test FLUSH-OUT was the worst part about the whole (no pun) thing. I got Pics too.. but it kinda proved my kids were right.. Dad >IS< a perfect AZZHOLE
I must have had another senior moment, because I have to have one more surgery to replace the other hip, but hopefully that will be the last.
Bama; after I go you will have to get here fast.. My wife's relatives will be here to get the race cars, tools, five 428 and one 427 Ford engines and anything else they can talk my wife out of. The 240Z is a V8 with over 400 hp.
Hey Bama;
Have you ever seen the movie "Greedy" with Kirk Douglas and Michael J. Fox?
Reminds me of my wife's family. When I cough, they start circling.
....It really is no big deal and it gives ya a day to chill.
As I write this, I am still shaking off the anethesia a bit. I'm a little light-headed, kind of like having had a few Beam & Diet-Cokes.
But I have to say, it was no where near as bad as I thought it would be. I highly recommend anyone past the big "five ohh" get one done. The prospect of getting colon cancer is far, far worse than the exam itself.
I was sedated for the procedure, it was like taking a nap. I recall some conversation, but was not aware of what they were saying as well as some very slight sensations of the exam itself. Getting a prostate exam was worse than this. I got a clean bill and even got pics for the kids to prove that there isn't and never was "anything up Dad's ass".
After the exam and I was discharged, my honey drove me home. Having a person to drive you home is a mandatory thing with the hospital. They won't do the exam if you don't have another person to drive you home. Which is a good thing, I was still too light headed to drive.
So if any of you other guys over 50 haven't had a colonoscopy yet, get it done. It may save your life down the road, possibly much sooner than you may think. For you young "kids", if you have a family member or friend who hasn't done so, encourage them to get it done. It might save you the premature experience of having to carry their casket to the gravesite.
