Hotplate coolant/SVO heat exchanger?

Everything went together well,took a couple hours total but I had to make the bracket,pull the battery,etc. What was nice is the fuel pump primed right up which was a relief. Monday I'm going upgrade the 5/16 fuel hose to 3/8 which should allow abit more fuel flow.:sweet

You can definitely notice when the fuel goes from cold to warm as it hits the injectors:cool:

Had to drop a couple shims out so the fuel pump doesn't have to work as hard.

Looks like I may install a 6 psi helper pump for the stock fuel pump and still upgrade to 3/8 hose.

I failed to mention that on the coolant output of the HE I plumbed the coolant in the Dieselsite coolant filter,I'll eventually make a bracket for the ball valve to mount to.

But he had to add 10 ft of fuel lines. I would have mounted the FPHE under the X between the tank and his Dahl to minimize the fuel flow distance. My coolant loop is about 25->30 feet long but my fuel line lengths are at the bare minimum. Apples and oranges I guess, but the install sure looks clean.

Bill good deal having JHarvey help you. We all know that it will be documented with FINE :photo . I got your PM but honestly I've never even looked under the hood of a SD so it's foreign to me.

I'm still considering relocating the HE down in the area of the stock pump/Dahl 100 but I'll need some brackets made up.

My hydraulic shop is going to make up some 3/8"-1/2" line assemblies with fittings so everything can be plug n play.Just need to get all the fitting sizes.
