the 99 that i dropped the tank to drain the gas out of had one.i had to drop the tank 4 times cuz the idiot driver kept filling it with gas.fuel pump died in it last saturday.advance asked if i wantedthe pump in the tank or the frame mounted pump.

Rich did you physically see the pump in the tank? Advance may have been looking at the pumps for Gas and Diesel rigs...


scheid6996, Have you tried cycling the pump like Knick and Tbar recommended? Can you hear the pump running like Scott asked? I am still guessing that there is another problem..

No pump in my tank.:dunno


The white part on the pick up is the mixing chamber to mix warm return fuel with new fuel to avoid gelling fuel lines in cold climates. Too bad the return fuel is full of air and causes cackle.

no pump in my tank, either.

the lift pump is the one on the frame rail.

There is only a pump on the frame rail, and it is the low pressure pump. Injection pressure is reached on these trucks by a high pressure oil pump. And you should hear it running. If not check fuse and make sure there is power the pump.

For the low fuel light and for the guage. Why would a fuel pump have four wires going to it???
