I have an 2004 F250 SuperDuty 4x4 that is a real dog! I live in Colorado and do alot of hunting so am in the mtns alot. Heck I cant even pull out in traffic at 6000ft let alone anything at 10,000ft +
What is the best chip/tuner for the 6.0
was looking at a bullydog pmt but now am told that it might not be the best for the ford ?? I also tow a 10,000lbs tractor/trailer
I'm looking for something that is tunable on the fly and also that monitors all the different temps and such. Thats why i was thinking the pmt?
I don't want anything that I have spend 30mins anytime I want to go do something else.
Thanks
TODD

It's not tunable on the fly, but I would recommend the Xcal II and a tune from Matt and the boys over at Spartan Diesel Tech. Just got mine today and WHOA MOMMA!!!! What a difference.

I'd look and see what's wrong with your truck first.

Are you having issues with power loaded or unloaded?? I tow roughly 7klbs with my 01 7.3 that's bone stock and can maintain 75-80 up Vail and Eisenhower no sweat. And when I'm empty I can go as fast as I want.

at RPM it isn't an issue. It's all low rpm stuff. Oh it will haul ass and all but I can't go anywhere hell I can't even back over a curb with out putting it to the floor. Have had it in the shop to have some other work done and all is ok just the way the 6.0's are at low rpm until the turbo kicks in.
I had a 01 7.3 that I had a hypertech chip in that helped but I want more that what it gave.

.....just the way the 6.0's are at low rpm until the turbo kicks in....

:bs No disrespect or anything, but that is simply NOT true!!! When mine was stock it would easilly idle over curbs, easilly pulled an 18k lb gooseneck with no problems. Even now with the big tires and STOCK 3.73 gears, it will idle over curbs or just barely touch the throttle if it's a larger curb, and it will smoke the 38's if I want to, from a dead stop. :sweet

If you have to floor it to go over a curb, and you have no low end power, then you have something wrong with your truck, there's no question about it. These trucks were biult to tow and haul, and have plenty of low end grunt.

I hope you can figure out what is wrong with it, and that it's something simple to fix/repair:goodluck

the 6.0's are NOT like the 7.3's on the low end.....BUT definitely have more power than your speaking of.....i would get another look at her from a different dealer than before....a chip would help out quite a bit....but i would make sure the truck is running the way it should be first....JMHO....good luck!

I agree with the past 2 posts. Sounds like you have some sort of power issue. I hate to say it, but maybe you need a re-flash. As far as tuners, the most powerful tunes can only be done with one of the SCT devices. Either the XCal 2 or the Livewire. I currently run the livewire with tunes from Elite and I love it. However, they are not shift-able on the fly. The livewire will monitor stuff from the truck, but they are still working out the bugs so not all of the monitors read accurately right now.

I am over here in Thornton we have at least one truck from 2003 to 2007 on my block to where you can get in and compare. Ive driven my 05 at much lower alt. and have the same power that I do when Im on the flat tops. When my 10000+ trailer is on it even seems more responsive slower but more responsive. Now if your talking about turbo lag when empty that is generally cause you are going slow at much higher RPM right of the line.

My dads 7.3 is good for about a truck length at grade with comparable trailers and then I stomp him, both stock.
