on the road and in strange places ? Took a drive around the Valdosta Georgia area today.. thought I'd go ahead and Fill'r up on the way back to the Rig.

:eek: Had to go thru 4 different Major Brand stations (all sell Diesel) before I found one that had ANY fuel.. Gas or Diesel.. Wasup with that :eek:

Is fuel availability an issue here in the south. I hadn't heard anything about it, if it is :dunno

Finally found a Shell with one Diesel, and one Regular (No mid or High grade) pump working. All other pumps were bagged.

ALSO......... Saw a lighted sign on I-75 near Metro Atlanta touting Dezel for $4.89.9 ... Saw another lighted sign, 50 miles south of Atlanta touting Dezel for $4.01.9 ... Wasup with that ?? an .88 cent Dif.. in 50 miles ??

Sumpn Fishy 'round dez parts

Welcome to GA. You're just a little West of me. Prices on I-95 in GA are around $3.89. I usually fill up at exit 3 or 6.

Nashville was w/o a fuel (gas or diesel) supply for a while due to damage from Ike and the TN area is still spotty on fuel, the media has had a frenzy with it and it's been reported quite a bit down here and they are not stating the why on the radio and tv news simply stating the fact that there are stations w/o fuel and lines for those that do. This triggers redneck paranoia and stockpiling instincts. This results in an increased immediate demand and stations out of fuel until the next truck comes in.

I can say that we haven't had the problems here in J-ville but I'm sure that has something to do with the regional distribution center being in town.

If I could, I would refer you to the Post-Gustav "price-gouging" thread that got beat into the ground. It looks like it was removed, I would asume because it got rather volatile.

As I tried to convey in that thread, prices were increasing due to the impending short supply. I got flamed for having the 'nads to disagree with the popular "price-gouging" rhetoric, but so it goes. I suppose I may get flamed again for sharing this. Here is an article that was in The Dallas Morning News on Wednesday, and it supports exactly what I tried to tell everyone...

The bottem fell out of the oil stocks so down it goes....:dunno

Okay, I was poking a little sarcastic fun :nudge at those "oil company conspiracy theorists" out there! So many are quick to blame the oil companies when the price goes up, then grow silent when the price drops! Who gets that credit?

Just having a little fun... :tongue2 ...while beating a dead horse:dh

It really is a serious question though, if anybody feels lead to respond....
