You can use a hole saw. Make sure it is very sharp. It is highly recommended that you apply tape over the surface to be cut to avoid chipping. You can also get a solid surface blade for a jigsaw but it sounds like a pretty small diameter hole. Drill speed should be moderate. You want to keep the heet down. Let the drill do the work.

how big a hole?

Corian and similar resin solid surfaces get worked with conventional tools. hole saw will be fine. consider running it in reverse to get it started.

a plunge router and steady hand is my choice for solid surfaces with.

if its one of the newer composites like the Zodiaq or Marmol, then it has REAL stone in it and you will need diamond tooling. best to bring it to a stone fab shop.

use plenty of masking tape or duct tape to protect the surrounding area.

I used a regular wood spade bit when I put the hole for my DI faucet in my house.

You need to drill slowly so you do not melt the plastic with heat from drilling. And it is best if once you get the initial punch through if you drill from the other side so you minimizie the chances of getting breakout when you go through (that or just drill with no pressure on the drill)

A regular hole saw can be used to make the hole and the only advice I can make is do it outside or have a fan in a window pushing air outside because when the bit gets hot it is going to stink to high heaven. I learned this the hard way when I remodeled my house.
