Changing my own oil

Thanks for the info.

I ended up getting the oil from Oreilly I bought 4, 1gallon jugs of Delvac for 11.99 a jug.

Forgive me I'm stupid when it comes to this stuff.
On the oil filter is all that I have to do is change the element?
Is there no other filter where you change out the whole oil filter?
This is new to me and this has me a little confused.

yup just change the oil filter cartridge...many of us have the
fomoto oil drain valve <makes draining the oil easier and removes
the potential for spills or MESS>...

i start the oil draining from the pan and then to up and loose the
oil filter cap completely (this allows the oil to drain out of the oil filter
housing)....once your satisfied that the filter houseing has drained,
you can install the NEW filter, change the o-ring on the filter cap
and close that up...you dont necessarily need to wait for the oil
to finish draining outta the pan before you put the new filter in.

REMEMBER -FOURTEEN QUARTS REFILL < NOT 15 >

Yea I just got my Fomoto Drain Valve a couple of days ago in the mail. mentioned in my post above.

My only concern is the change comming up without the Fomoto this may get a little messy

sorry, missed that (bout the valve)...look at it this way...itll be
your LAST messy oil change

some nitrile gloves will help keep your hands womanly soft & clean
when working on cars/motorcycles/trucks/lawn mowers etc...
