Since I bought my truck on friday and learned why he got rid of it( if going to look at 6.0 stick finger in coolant resv) I have been doing alot of reading trying to figure out if I made a VERY BIG mistake. I have noticed there is no one saying anything good about these engines, I had a 7.3 regret getting rid of it had a 05 6.0 didn't like the no power, traded for a 06 duramax another truck should have kept. So far from what I am told need to replace oil cooler, going to install egr delete, now trying to figure out why it has 0 power when first start driving, takes about 5 miles before it runs right, has a quadzilla programmer don't know if has anything to do with it. Like the title says anything good about this engine or do I trade the truck in and take my loss

Sell it. You are right, and the thousands of us here don't know what we are talking about.

Do some searching on the site. 6.0's are good motors if taken care of, if abused they will go to crap just like any other engine out there

The biggest thing to cause problems in the 6.0 is a tuner/programmer. There are some that running stock that do have problems but not a many that have been tweaked. I have on and i love it. it has 93k miles on it and has been in for a cold start issue. They flashed the PCM and cleard the issue, probally the same problem you are describing. I would not hesidate to jump in mune and drive it anywhere. I would by another one, as long as it can be proven to me that no tuner has been on the truck. Mine is has been stock since day one. Mine is not a toy, it is a tow vehicle and has enought power for anything I want to do.... I personally have no need for a tuner. A buddy of mine has an IDI that he pushed to the linit and a Cummins that had 500+ and said that he would not turn it up, it had plenty of power stock. So....... Yes I have plenty good to say about the 6.0..... I also have seen many problems caused by turning the engines up above the designed limits and the owner being mad bacause it broke......

Like they said the 6.0 is a good engine if you take care of it..i too think it needds to be reflashed for the cold start i dont think it has anything to do with the quadzilla ...ive had a quadzilla ship on mine since about 8k miles and run it and my sct since about 95k and i have over 130k on it now...yes i have replaced the egr stuff nad studded it for peace of mind but i like mine love my 7.3 too i also have a 2000 f250 eiher way you have to take care of it obvioulsly and drive it like its meant to be driven with all the epa crap on em they wont last just runnin up and downt the street to the wal mart

I am glad to hear some good things, I wasn't trying to bad mouth them it just seems like all you read is bad. I am one who likes hearing good things. About how much is the reflash? We are going to check the diag for codes tomorrow and see if anything comes up. Thanks snicklas and ckamp52

maybe it has to do with person pushing on the go pedal and not knowing when to let up....also, doing your homework on programmers, making sure you get the right one for your application....

anyway, i would buy another 6.0l in a heartbeat....
