I used to use a 20 oz pop bottle in the console cupholder on my wife's Odyssey as a shifter on long trips :lmao

For what its worth, I feel for you guys that had to sell your trucks. That being said, I found out a long time ago that selling things off is rarely the answer. Losing one to a wreck or fire is one thing. Losing one to pay bills is another. The bills keep coming. Truck or not. But I feel for you guys. Hopefully you'll get back in the saddle. If you needed the truck, nothing has changed. And if you didn't, well...nothing has changed. :dunno

aint that the truth!!!i was dumb though i sold my car carrier insead of the duallie.i had no work for it at all.and i ended up selling it to a friend on payments with 800.00 upfront.payments have been very small and not very often.

but i do love having my dually back and now that i have it running good again i really love it.trip to my sisters house at normal speeds from 30-65mph i was using 1/4 tank of fuel round trip.i did an injector swap cuz of stupidity.now im running bone stock 97 splitshots.i went to my sisters today speeding the hole way 45 to over 100 mph, used 1/8 tank of fuel round trip.my car carrier would use 1/2 tank round trip.although i could seriously use the litlle bit of money that truck made me i seriously couldnt afford the fuel bill.but now its benn killed i wish i neverf sold it

Its not a Pick-up, but my Wife's 07 Expedition with a 5.4 gets a steady 16-17mpg. It has a 6speed though.

You didn't ask me but our F150 5.4 gets about 12mpg around town and 14 on the highway. Sticker said much more than that. Not much I like about the truck so I stay out of it.

In my F150 I used to get 15.5 and that was with custom tunes, AF1 Intake, and exhaust and the best I ever got with the truck was 18.5 tailgating my friends semi from Engadine to Iron Mountain at 65MPH.:sly

I'm in same boat with wife's F150. Mileage is terrible and won't tow for beans either. I can honestly say I HATE that truck.

Robert, the 150 is getting around 15-18 mpg in the DFW area. When I go to Louisiana, which is around 700 miles round trip, I can get up to 21 mpg. It's a 2008 and has the 4.6 engine with the 3.55 rear gear. The Platinum is rated at 14/20, but with "easy" accelerations you could probably get more than that on the road. I just talked with my salesman about another matter and asked him about his demo (which is a 2010 Red Platinum) and he usually gets around 14. I've known him for over 23 years and he's a pretty honest guy. However, he's never on the highway and most of his driving is local as he only lives about 10 miles from the dealership. I have found that the 150, as well is in my former PSD, if I keep the rpms at 2000 or less (even during takeoffs), I get the best mileage. I know what you mean about the pickum up truck. I've been without one in the past and it's pretty tough.

Hope this helps in your decision. If you have any questions, you can also PM me.
