    Introduction

1st post mentioned she is in Phoenix so I don't think gelling fuel will be a problem, given that she pretty much lives on the surface of the sun...

    Headlight upgrades options

Sylvania Silverstars from whatever local parts place carries them--I've got a pair of those bulbs and they are the shiznit. :D :D :D ;)

Rode in an '08 PSD today...

Thanks--one more thing (not new news, really)--at $49K for a not-completely loaded F-350 Lariat, Ford is IMO dangerously close to pricing themselves out of the market. It was a nice truck for sure, but it was not 50% nicer than my '02/7.3 (about as much more than it cost vs. my truck) since...

one of my friends is gettin' cocky and wants to pull w/ me

IMO, if you do decide to do a pull contest I'd put the odds as, at best, even with maybe just a hair of favor going to the Chevy. The newer GM gassers run pretty well (I've driven a few at my old job) and vs. an almost-stock OBS PSD, they might even have an advantage, especially if the Chevy is...

Rode in an '08 PSD today...

I went by the dealer to ask when they would be getting an '08 in stock and the sales guy said they had one out on a test drive that would be coming back in 15 mins or so and I stuck around. When they got it back, they guy who was most likely going to be buying it drove, I rode shotgun, and the...

    Problems

Are they going to do anything to make up for their error (upgrading cabinetry, nicer upholstery, $$$ back, etc...)?

Ignore him--it's not worth breaking your truck to shut up an a-hole.

Looking for a Block heater cord

As with any other engine part--it's not new news that IH is usually cheaper than buying parts from FoMoCo.

    Hard to start

DOH! I'm thinking that humming sound is either the fuel pump or, depending on where the sound is coming from, the vacuum pump.

    Found this elsewhere....

There's a lot of folks out there who think Magnusson-Moss protects them from all sort of idiot mods, but IMO this is one case where M-M might have to come into play. As long as there are other oils (maybe not right now, but the oil companies will probably come out with 'em soon enough) or...

    Fuel gelled this morning...

I've got the cheapie for now, but I would like to upgrade to something better eventually. The FASS/AirDog systems are intriguing, but they're also rather spendy and I'm not sure if I can get a heat option for them.

    Fuel gelled this morning...

So did mine--those two new batteries I put in back in October make sooooooo much difference starting, but once the engine started pulling cold fuel out of the under-cab lines, that's when I figure it gelled. I had the block heater plugged in all night so the fuel that was in the engine...

    Fuel gelled this morning...

I was thinking the same thing, but the fuel in the lines that were in the engine compartment must have been warm enough to flow, but when it started drawing out of the under-cab lines, that stuff was a wee bit cold (wind chill was ~-25*F or so this morning).

    Fuel gelled this morning...

...and, go figure, it gelled right in front of the Chevy dealer. :o I had a bottle of PS 9-1-1 behind the back seat so I was back on the road in 10 minutes or so but that was a rather unfortunate location for that to happen....

    Daily P.S.A.

We have many other methods of getting in a house but they involve disposable doors/windows and for a non-emergent entry, the homeowners might not appreciate us using them. ;)

    good place for turbo mods

Ditto--unless the original wheel is trashed from dirt/wear, there's no need to swap it out with the new one. When I installed my WW, I actually lost boost but since I don't have to worry about compressor stall anymore, I don't mind.;) :D

    can the power mirrors?

    DOH (smacks forehead)!

    Finally

If you'll be passing through Cheyenne on I-80 or I-25 give me a buzz and, out of the kindness of my heart, I'll allow you to buy me a brew or three. ;) :sly :sly :sly :sly

    can the power mirrors?

UGH! Get the factory mirrors--they would actually look right vs. the cheap-o, bolted-on look of those things.
