    I was kind of hoping I wasn't the only one that towed in OD.:D It is just way to hard to justify towing in 3rd gear especially when I drive about 110 kph (70 mph) on the highway. The rpm's get to high and don't forget the fact that these diesels will pull anything up anywhere.:thumbs

    There is only a pump on the frame rail, and it is the low pressure pump. Injection pressure is reached on these trucks by a high pressure oil pump. And you should hear it running. If not check fuse and make sure there is power the pump.

    O no, I have no overdrive, my life is over. Well not really. I got it put on the scanner today at my neighbors tranny shop and the code P0783. He said it was something to do with the shift solonoid in the tranny. Anyone ever have this before, what can I expect for down time? I will get him...

    I don't use synthetic oil for the motor, I use it for the turbo.

    I would go with the drilling and tap method. You will be much happier after you have done it that way. I spliced mine into the MAP line and it is quite annoying trying to read it.

    3500 lbs is a walk in the park for a SDD. Possibly a stuck thermostat.

    How much weight were you towing, how hot was it, air conditioning on, and were you going up hill? These things all come into play with the motor heating up.

    Did you have it in neutral with your foot on the brake. Not sure about 04's but mine won't go in or out of 4x4 low unless that happens.

    I would go with that. You will notice a large power drop when the clutch fan kicks in. That is a large fan for the motor to turn around. So you would think it would be like an airplane and you would go faster. LOL:D

    Wow, that sounds good. I would surely want to pay an extremely large sum of money for something that wasn't put together right in the first place. That would be like buying a new SD and the front tires were out of alignment.-mad

    I've had that problem before. If you turn on the wipers the truck dies. There is a couple of ground wires on the drivers fender close to the fire wall. Clean that ground up or move them to a clean spot on the fire wall. That should fix it.;)

    I'd go with the sway bar link bushings. Mine is doing it right now and the bushings are worn big time. But do check out your ball joints and tie rods in the mean time. These SD's like to eat up the front end parts.:sweet

    Brand new filter, pump is about 6 months old, and I just cleaned the pick up and screens when I changed the fuel pump. So I will go from there.

    The red tint would be the dye in the off road fuel. It is not sulfur the green is most likely the sulfur cause over the years I've noticed the color of the fuel go from a greenish tinge to much clearer fuel as they have changed to the low sulfur diesel.

    Could be just here, but I would figure they would have some way of telling if you paid road taxes on it or not. Otherwise everyone would buy it then wouldn't they, I know I would. :D

    If he was running heating oil in his truck it is the same thing as running a diesel fuel from the gas stations. The only difference is that heating oil or dyed diesel has a dye in it so that your local transportation authorities can tell the difference between fuel you've paid road tax on and...

    Don't rule out that in your "mixing chamber" on the fuel pick up there are two screens inside of it. If these screens are plugged it may make you pump struggle alot to pull the fuel out of the tanks.

    I like my Magna-flow cause it sounds nice (after I took out the muffler), the price was right, and it made you jealous so you want one now after you heard in on my rig.:rolleyes: :roflmao

    Yeah, I changed the sending unit to the other location and it still reads the same, about 30 lbs. Would the truck even run with that low of fuel pressure or is my sending unit screwed up?

    Does it just not read properly in the other location or what. I figured it wouldn't be too far off, especially when the truck isn't running.

    I just installed my fuel pressure sending unit and all I'm getting for a pressure reading is about 30 psi. I have the S/U installed in the port closer to the passenger side of the fuel bowl. I looked like it was after the filter and I might be able to tell when my fuel filter was plugin' up...
