    Laser require high voltage ~1,200V if I remember right. You could try a fluorescent ballast but I would not give it great odds. If you look around you can probably find one surplus for cheap.

    Shift lever issues

    I just fixed mine, turned out that there are 2 Torx bolts on the back of the rod that tie it to the lever that were VERY loose. Loctited them and tightened em back up and it is much better now. Might give yours a look as well, you can see it if you lay on the floor and look up.

    #2 should be fine even with the surge. You will get some drop across the wire but I don't think it will be a problem. You want to ground to the battery. They are many possible problems that can come from using the chassis for a ground especially at such high currents.

    At peak current you will be drawing over 100A so 4 gauge would work, 2 gauge is better. Definately put the fuse within a few inches of the battery. Keep in mind that if that #2 wire shorts to ground without a fuse, very bad things can happen.

    You are correct, the only problem is the 5V supply suggested by Fry's does not suply the 24V needed. One other concern is that a cheap, unregulated supply that is made for 2.5A and only loaded with 100 mA may put out ~5.8V and damage something that needs a regulated 5V but that is unlikely.

    I get the same code with my DP Tuner 80HP PCM. I thought it was not uncommon?? Mine only does it when I jump on it to pass someone and I am already going 80. I have been think about looking at the IPR though to see if I can fix it.
