I'm looking into buying a Utility ATV. I have narrowed my choices down to the Polaris Sportsman 800 EFI Deluxe, the Yamaha Grizzly 700 EFI, or the Suzuki King Quad. Do any of you guys have any of these quads, and how do you like or dislike them. Any and all replies are appreciated.

if i was going with a new one, it would be a Yamaha. all my atv`s have been Yamaha`s, the latest being a 03 grizzly(very good machine). the Polaris is a good machine to, but are heavy and had some problems. the Suzuki seems to be ok, but haven`t had much expierence with them. i think the best choice is up to, which machine will meet your needs. they all have there good point`s and bad point`s....test drive each of them and compare...also the price of each machine, if that is a concern...i think it boils down to which will meet your needs and what you will be using them for......GO YAMAHA....lol...good luck:thumbs

also, forgot to mention about reliabilty....the Yamaha seems to have the better record there, around here anyway. i am sure they all have had there problems, but most machines in this area or the people i ride with seem to have Yamaha, Polaris and Honda..having worked for a friend of mine with a repair shop for three years, i found the Polaris`s hardest too work on, don`t why, but they gave me the hardest time...hope this helps...

I have a Kodiak so I have watched the Yamaha section of atvfrontier.com and seen quite a few Yamaha people complaining about quality on the new Grizzlies and going to the Suzuki King Quads. That King Quad sure looks like a nice machine, if I was to get another I would give it a good look. The Grizzlies probably just had a few bug in the first year of the redesign and hopefully they are worked out now. I have had my Yamaha for about 3 years now and it has not given me any problems.

I have a 96 Polaris Sportsman 500. It hasn't left my down since I bought it. I use it like a tractor here at the house, pulling fallen trees up to cut into firewood, plowing the snow, and plowing the leaves out of the way. Keith

I own a 01 polaris scrambler 500 and have ridden a buddys 06 800 sportsman for a couple weekends. The power that the 800 put's out is awesome! My buddy's is bone stock and pulls the wheels at 35mph. I struggle to keep up to him on straights with my 500 but catch up in the trails due to the extra weight. I wouldn't think twice about buying the 800 EFI. Other than that my 500 has been problem free. POLARIS "THE WAY OUT!"

I have had a Polaris 300 Sportsman for 10 years now, no major work on it and I work it like a dog...pulled trees, trailers and just playing around. It is finally to the point that I have to get some major work done on it, But i would not hesitate to buy another Polaris...BTW, they were good enough for Spec Ops in Afganistan.

Any of the choices should be good though.

I have two Polaris and one Yamaha

I lean towards the Polaris due to the service I have gotten from them. I have a 500HO and a 325. Both Crank when you need em, and a great ride compared to most I have been on.

I dont think I know anyone that has a Suzuki

Put me down as a Polaris guy also. Own a 2001 400 Sportsman and have never had a lick of trouble with it.

Buy American.
