Reno, Well #4 or #2 sounds better then 0/1 but I never would have thought that it would need to be that big. To go from the battery to behind the seat in the back seat of a crew cab should I go with a 0/1, considering that it is capable of pushing a 2400 watt surge. The stupid inverter will not even hold 0/1, do I have to reduce down with some type of connector?

Fordguy, I have the positive and negative on the inverter and then I also have a little ground post are you saying take that to neg. on the battery or just to the chassis.

Thanxs guys-- Alot more info then the stupid manufacturer will fricken give me.

#2 should be fine even with the surge. You will get some drop across the wire but I don't think it will be a problem. You want to ground to the battery. They are many possible problems that can come from using the chassis for a ground especially at such high currents.

So to make sure I am understanding correctly, I am going to run a wire from the ground to the neg. batterty post and another wire from the neg. on the inverter to the neg. on the battery and then one from the pos. on the inverter to pos on the battery all going to the battery on the left side with a 250 amp fuse as close to the battery as possible on the pos side. Right :thumbs
OR
Wrong :(

boadie that sounds right...but remember this will allow for an ALWAYS ON
situation w/ the inverter.

if not carefully monitored you could EASILY kill BOTH batteries by
running the inverter (w/out the truck running)

You mean by leaving the inverter in the on position, with something plugged in and running. I think the inverter shuts down when battery drops to 10.2 volts gives an alarm at 10.4 volts or are you saying somthing different.

OKAY.. While we're on this subject.. I've been thinking of Hard Wireing an Inverter into my FW.

Havent got serious about it yet, but here are some of my thoughts:

Mount it behind the RV electrical breaker planel (plenty of room and free air there). Tap into the 6 gauge 12v wires that come from the Batts.. to power the inverter.

THEN.. take JUST the 120v circuit that powers the TV & Satelite Reciever.. and plug it into the inverter.

Anything ILLEGAL about this ? Or Dangerous ? We're talkn about prolly 75 to 125 Watts max. I would define that before I commit.

Does'nt seem to me there is.. But your opinions please:dunno

Would you then just plan to stick with a small inverter with no plans to use the inverter with anything else? I think if you stuck with just an inverter (small) for that one purpose i would not think there would not be a problem. The 6 Gauge wires would not be big enough and too far away from the battery to use a bigger inverter.
