    I have a dana 80 dually rear in my 99. I am goint to do rear wheel bearings on one side. I have the wratcheting nut to holf it on? was wondering whats the torque? If i remember, its like 65 pounds and back off 7 clicks for used bearings and 5 for new? Cant remember. thx:dunno

    dodge trannys were weak. Good now, especially the 68re new ones. Or the aisin. But i certainly am not going to argue the dodge vs ford thing. I like em both. I like big diesel trucks regardless.

    thr 47re from dodge had failures, but could be built up real well, and make a great trans. the 48 is cool as is. Only main issue is if you let it idle in park no fluid circulates.     i had a friend that had his tranny do it when pulling in 4wd low a heavy horse trailer full of hay in the field. both times he lost all the fluid. Please let me know what you find. My bet is heat and a small cooler?

    the 5r100 supposed to be great. The allison is not the same tranny as in the med duty trucks. They are good too but, in my opinion not any better then the ford. I dont dare mention on this forum that the 48re in the dodge is good too.
