Thought of something today prolly a lot more helpful than my previous post. :sorry Were you in an area where they are pumping oil from the wells that you don't normally run through, Oil wells will give off a strong sulpher smell that will go away as you leave the area.

    Rotella Syn or Mobil 1?

Rotella 5w-40 synthetic is for the turbo diesels. I run the stuff too and love it. Availability at wally world and TSC and the fact that I have run Rotella for over 20 years with no problems is why I use it. I even let Wally world change it for me...... Just grab 4 jugs and an oil filter and...

    gelled up yesterday

Beleive me, if it's premeum diesel, #1 or winter blend it's marked.... and usually costs more. Premeum diesel is just #2 with a better additive package for lubricity, cetane and usually a lower gel point, can often find it for the same price as #2. I run northwest and out here they mark the...

Been running straight #2 or premium diesel (when it's the same price) with a double shot of Power Service (white jug) all month hauling travel trailers in Western Canada in -20F and -30F temps with no problems. Only problem this winter with the truck not starting was frozen batteries a few weeks...

    Auxiliary fuel tank

Watch what you are buying ladies and gentlemen. This is a transfer tank not an auxillary tank, there is a big difference. It's not designed to be hooked into the existing fuel system but prolly could be done with a little fabrication. At 19" tall it should be about flush with the bed...

    Worst Luck Ever!!

Your good there, that rules out a worn front cover and/or lube pump. Another freebie, quick check I forgot about. Pull the top off of the fuel filter housing and check the color of the fuel in it. Should be clear. If it's black, you have a blown oring on the injectors and will have to...

    Worst Luck Ever!!

Oh boy does that sound familiar circa last january for me. Freebie for you. Check the oil level in the HPOP resevoir. Pull the plug out of the top and the oil should be about 1" - 1-1/2" from the top. No oil it won't run.

hpop problems, diesel in the valley

HPOP = High Pressure Oil Pump, has nothing to do with diesel fuel. Only supplies oil to the injectors, no fuel goes through it. ICP sensor probably bad causing the rough running if that's the code you are getting... It tells the puter to tell the IPR valve how much oil pressure the HPOP needs...

I keep a step stool exactly like this in the bed of my truck all the time. Great for getting in and out of the bed and washing the top of the truck with a brush too. Don't leave home without it. With the Extang RT roll up tonneau and a tailgate lock it's out of sight, out of mind, (as well as...
