    Not sure on the 6.0 but my 7.3 is hot after just a few miles depending on how cold it is. 50F is not cold enough to slow it down. I think you have a problem. I think I'm up to temp in less than 5 miles when it is 0 degrees F. Jim

    asap how many quarts oil?

    I have always put in 14 1/2 qts and it stays about 1/2 qt low for 5,000 miles. If I add 15 qts, it burns off the 1/2 within 500 miles anyway so I see no need to add the 1/2 qt. Don't know why it burns off the extra but it apparently doesn't need it. Jim
