    My Vent tube is on the left hand side of the axle tube.. (facing forward) couple of inches away from the spring pad. it has a clip on the frame to hold the hose up, and a barb that is screwed into the tube to plug the hose on to.

    This sounds almost as though your EBV valve is partially stuck..... this would also mean extremely high EGT's... if your wheel is turning freely, this would be one of two things I would look at, the next would be to inspect your intercooler boots real close, one of them may have worked there...
