    Actually I'm pretty sure its the clearcoat, the adhesive came off fairly easily. I tried some rubbing compound but all that did was scrape te clear down even more, not blend it in any. Thanks!

    I don't think a new muffler would decrease the sound, you can either tell your girlfriend to plug her ears until it gets a bit warmer out and the ebpv won't close or you can disconnect the valve by unhooking the the 2-wire electrical connection at the base of your turbo.     The EBPV is a butterfly valve that increases exhaust backpressure to help your truck warm up when its cold. The noise you're hearing is perfectly normal.

    I just went and checked all my wiring connections as well as any grounds I could find to make sure they were all good. Seems like I have good connections. Before I pulled the IDM I tried starting the truck again, blew a lot of smoke and wouldn't run more than a second. Checked the codes again...
