    High EGT

I thought that 1250 was max, or is this for the first gen 7.3? If not does that mean that I'm ok at 1200-1250 pullin on a long grade in my 97?:dunno

    CB Radio

Cobra is my preffered brand. I've heard good things about Firestick. I've also heard bad. I don't have any experience with them. I'm runnin twin 4' RoadPro whips on my Ranger and they seem to be good. That's my .02

    wierd performance

ok, his idle doesn't really fluctuate though. Is it normal for these motors to click the idle up and down every few minutes? the tach doesn't move, just that you can hear the motor go up 50 rpm or so. This question is about my truck BTW.

    Question New Exhaust

MBRP is my first pick, but as far as bang for your buck, Diamond eye is a good system to look at. Decent prices and I'm happy with mine. I'd say almost or as good a quality as MBRP. Try amjperformance.com or beansdieselperformance.com Just cjeck out some of the sites sponsors.

photos Just my opinion on the 4r100

I wouldn't mind tearin one apart sometime. here's how I look at it, if you get into it and can't get it back together, the worst that can happen is you take all the brand new parts into your trusted tranny shop and pay them a couple hundred to put it back together. Just how I look at it.

    selling engine maybe

I think common rails have a lot more potential, but parts for a 12v are much cheaper. Good luck and keep us posted. I can't wait to see this build!

    Meth injection

Anybody out there run water/meth injection on the 94-97 PSDs? If so, was there a noticeable power increase and what kind of EGT reduction do you get? Also, hoe much power and EGT temp drop should I expect to see from a Tymar intake? Thanks:sweet

    wierd performance

I'll mention the IPR issue. Air filter is good. How will I know if the IPR is bad? We have a snap-on Modis scanner and it checks good for codes.

Question How to turn over diesel engine w/o starting?

x2 for the bump switch. they're cheap and take 20 seconds to put on.

    wierd performance

OK, I've got a buddy that has a 1997 F-350 2wd. He said that when it's cold out, the truck runs like a raped ape, but in the summer and warmer temps, it's a dog. What could be causing this? any help would be great!

    Question ambulance package questions

If you put a high Idle switch on the truck, you could run those with a bigger altermator since most high idles will bring you up to 1100-1300 RPMs when turned on.

    Ice pictures.

yeah, it was pretty nasty here. I bet those Cb whips were feelin the weight.

    Need for gauges

I'd say that you should have gauges. You may not tow now, but if the need ever arrises, you'll want good gauges. Boost, EGT and Tranny are the most common 3 on the A-pillar. If you're using mechanical, or dial type gauge get a quality set. Isspro Di-procol, and autometer are probably the best 3...

If you like working with tablesaws

Yeah, he ran his finger in from the side, but he did touch the teeth of the blade pretty much straight on. When you're pushing a piece of wood throught the saw though, your finger will probably be more likely to hit the blade on an angle like that than stright on anyhow. Either way, it's an...

Looking at new diesel trucks - want unbiased input

aint that the story of life, but yes he's right. An auto tranny swap in that truck could be had for around 4k.

    The first F-Series truck

That's awsome Crumm. My vote would be the latter of the two options, but that's me! It'd probably be worth more if you re-do it stock, but that might get boring, and plus, how many other people have these trucks with a souped up PSD under the hood? Good luck and keep us posted!! Can't wait to...

Help a fire company with an alternator issue - 2001 7.3

    Truck won't shift.....

WOW, where did the 5 quarts go would be my question. Like was said before, take it to a REPUTABLE shop. Don't do one of the Ammco jobs. You want quality work and done right, especially when it's with the automatic trannies. Good luck!

    MBRP exhaust

They should be able to reprogram it. I think that it might still work for your truck even without being reprogramed, but don't hold me to that. Somebody else may know better, but if I were you, I'd grab it up if it's the right price.

    down pipes

I did it on my 97. I wouldn't say it easy, but no bad overall. You have to cut the old one in half to get it out. I think it took me and hour or so. The prices vary. I'd say anywhere from 100-200. If I were you, I'd go with an MBRP or Grand Rock. Both are good fits. So are the Diamond eye pipes...
