...'cuz I would like to know! :dunno

On a gasser I have just pulled the distributor wire, but on a diesel I can't find it! Seriously, what is the procedure on a diesel engine to crank without start?

-do it by hand
-unplug idm, injectors, pull relay
-keep the key off and use a bumper switch on the starter

I don't know for sure what a bumper/DM switch is...let's see, am I correct to imagine it has something to do with running juice from battery to starter while standing in front of a 8000 lb vehicle, holding/pressing a switch??? Holy flatman, Robin!:wc

Where do you unplug the cam sensor...at the sensor itself or up top?

rsg-

you got it! its a switch with 2 leads coming off of it, one goes to juice, the other to the solenoid trip wire.

you definitely want to set brakes, chock wheels, triple check its in neutral. we use them for bumping the engine over to adjust clutches on the big rigs. the switch is only as unsafe as its operator.
