HID Light are in my X!

If the halogen high beam burns out you remove the set screw that holds the halogen bulb part in and replace it. I bought a spare bulb in case either the HID or halogen broke. I will be able to replace immediately and then repair the broken one (at least the halogen part) and keep that as the...

    Satelite Radio

I had problems removing my radio so I removed the slide in cup holder and stuck my hand through to the back of the radio. It was a tight squeeze but I was able to manage. I keep my XM radio on a normal radio station so when I lose the signal or shut the unit off I still hear music and not static.

HID Light are in my X!

I installed the 50W HID lights in my 05X over the Xmas break. I got them from http://www.hidfoglight.com It was fairly easy and the hardest part is removing the headlight assembly from the truck. They are held in by four hex screws. The new H13 xenon low beam / halogen high beam bulbs...

    my AIC!!

We have automatic idle increasers in the ambulance. It is activated when you depress the parking brake. It is used because of the high demand for electricity and extra cooling or heating when we have a patient in the back.. Why did you install it on your truck? Why do you need to raise the idle?

    HID's in my X

I just received the 50W HID kit over the weekend to replace the stock bulbs. I was reading the directions and they want you to use a 23mm hole saw to drill out the old bulb fitting and install the new HID light. Where do you buy a 23mm hole saw? 23 mm is 0.905511811 inches so will a 1 inch...

    Houston-we've lost the computer

Here are a few other benefits of using Nitrogen in tires: [1] Nitrogen is denser than Oxygen: This means the larger molecules escape less easily from tires resulting in a more gradual loss of pressure over time. According to the Michelin Tire Manual, a tire that is inflated with Nitrogen...

    air induction ?

You still need a MAF to measure the volume of air entering the engine. I would think you would suck nothing but hot air into the turbo when you want cool air.

    headlight bulbs....

I should be receiving my 50W HID kit sometime this week. Ender & SIK350, Did you need to readjust the headlights after you installed the HID's?

    2nd belt 14000 miles 06 6.0

I would check the alignment of all the accessories. If any of them are not exactly in line with each other, the belt will twist putting undue pressure on something. It's an 8 rib belt and it doesn't want to give much anyway. It's possible one of the accessories needs to be shimmed to line...

    Steering Stabilizer bar

Any noticeable changes to the steering if you upgrade the steering stabilizer? I am using the stock size tire and rims and have no plans on switching to larger tires. Does Bilstein make a steering stabilizer shock?

    Bilstein shock owners.....

I just installed the heavy duty Bilstein shocks in my 05 X diesel and took it for a 40 mile drive. The ride seemed stiffer but not a whole lot more than stock. I don't take turns very fast as I don't want to roll over but I wanted to hear from other X owners as to their experience with the...

    Phantom Smoke...

It's possible you were burning off the condensation that collects in the exhaust after you shut the truck off and the exhaust cools off.

Please Help! Shop rec. for Head Studs

Try this: Johnson Motorsports 3247 Highway 63 South Lucedale, MS 39452 Phone: 601.766.9424 They deal primarily in gas engines but I am sure Chris can direct you to a good diesel shop. You are aware that chipping the computer let alone taking apart your 6.0 will void the warranty?

    06 6.0 runs cooler than my 03

I ordered it from Ford. You must specify a 2003 Excursion as they stopped installing them in 2004. BTW, I was not worried about the so-called paint bubbling on the hood after people had removed their hood liners. I wanted it for it's sound dampening effects!

    06 6.0 runs cooler than my 03

The pad was about $120 dollars including the plastic push in clips. It helps big time with the diesel noise during the cold mornings.

I installed the underhood pad on my 05 EB X. It made a world of difference. Quieter inside and much quieter outside.

    headlight bulbs....

Ender, thanks for the heads up. I ordered my HID's on Nov 30th but I emailed them to see if they would honor the rebate since my 50W kit won't be available until Jan 2007.

The HID bulbs should last many years but when the bulb does break I don't want it to be weeks before I get a replacement. I will store this one safely and will be ready should the need arise.

    headlight bulbs....

The 50W kit is $299 and I ordered one extra bulb for $70, shipping was $15. I figured I would have to adjust my headlights after the HID's are in so I might as well adjust them for the brighter 50W bulbs. I pity all those that come in my direction! :) You would figure on a $50K plus car...

    headlight bulbs....

I just ordered the HID lights from hidfoglight.com. The standard HID bulb is 35W and produces 3 times as much light as a 55W halogen. I just ordered their new 50W HID system. It is 33% brighter than the 35W bulbs. I will post pics before and after the install.

    My cold 6.0...........

Are you using an additive in your diesel fuel? Maybe it's gelling up in the cold and the injector is being starved of fuel? Are you plugging in the block heater?

Save your money and buy hi flow diesel injectors. The stock injectors can only flow so much fuel until you lean out your engine and pop the head gaskets. A properly tuned and properly fueled engine will not pop head gaskets. You might break connecting rods but not head gaskets. Hi flow fuel...

How much window tint do you have?

5% is too dark. I would go with 20%. It will be plenty dark but not unsafe to drive at night.
