    Basically, im asking this... Since I have installed the 6.0 tranny cooler, shouldnt I expected my temps to be no more than say 60-70* above ambient instead of 100*? Following that logic, if I do see them closer to 100* over ambient...it could signal signs of trouble?

    well, switch on the fly means you can flip the switch when you want and not have to stop your truck, shut it down, and download a new program, then start back up and go. I (and this is just my opinion) dont think it means you can flip it to whatever you want regardless of speed, throttle...

    as a rule of thumb, its never a good idea to switch the chip when you are moving and def not when you have your foot on the go pedal. it completely changes the way the motor runs and is probably best to let things "settle" once you change settings. just my 2 cents...

    i know there is a heater core shut-off valve you can buy from dieselsite, but thats for the 7.3's. im not sure if the 6.0's are set up that way or not...they might already have the valve. What you can do (and I feel this helped a lot) is go to your hardware store (lowes, home depot etc)...

    last time oil, and oil and fuel filters have been changed? I dont know much about trailers, but someone else will chime in. 10.6 does seem a bit low. maybe a brake is seized up on the trailer? that would certainly create a lot of extra simulated load that would require more fuel.

    be sure that the wire going from the back of the chip to the controller is not pinched/torn etc. The tuner is set up so that if its unplugged from the controller, the truck will go into no start mode. Sounds to me like the connection between the chip and controller is bad, or the controller...

    i would still go and pull fuse 30 ad crank it, and see if it jumps or not. if it does, its mechanical. if it doesnt, then dave is right and its controlled by the pcm.

    might want to double check that one...i know at some point that switched over and was true, but i wanna say it was around 2002? So yours still might be mechanical.
