    Windshield film and radar detectors

FWIW As I SAID. I have been very HAPPY with my ESCORT. It has not missed ANY police OFFICIALS, even the ones with INSTANT on RADAR. The Escort is a very GOOD detector as has been shown in multiple TESTS. Also, If you go to their website, there is a cord available to "wire it i,"...

    Windshield film and radar detectors

FWIW, My Escort 8500 X50 is mounted just left of the mirror, at the very top. A great location out of view, the cable just hangs over the mirror, (very handy since my weather changes hourly here and I find it on occasion disconnected from the wind shield, keeps it from falling 2.5 feet). I...

    Air Tanks

As far as my onboard air /horns, my system was pieced together; The actual Hadleys came off a Freightliner at a wrecking yard. Got them for $50 for the set. The 550C came from this guy on Ebay. But you can get a similiar price from Suicide Doors The Viair Hookup Kit came from...

    Air Tanks

5 Gallon on Frame. Thinking about adding (2) more 5 gallons under the sides of my truck box (in front of wheel well) since like you said, that is pretty much wasted space. Barrett

    Alarm w/ train horns?...

So do my Hadley's. :sweet Sounds like the missile deployment scene from "Spys Like Us!" :roflmao Makes for a lot of smiles from kids. In other words, if you have an alarm that will hook up to your stock horn, then there you go. Barrett

    Rough Cold Weather Start

Normal. If it's not plugged in and temps are down, it's a bit louder until it warms up a bit. What weight oil is in your rig now. They recommend 30 weight in the cold temps. If I leave my Rotella in, I really get the romps when the temps dive. Barrett

    Removing Dash Panels

What are you removing the headliner for? It's pretty easy to "fish" wiring around and through it with an electricians fish tape. As far as the plugs, needle nose plyers with the curved ends are the easiest way I have found. Tool allows you to get under the buttons and "rocker" them out...

    Tapping into Electrical Questions

FWIW, A good key-on and accessory-on wire, use the pink wire from the back of the stereo and run it through a relay. I have used it for several things. Gotta love those relays! :sweet Barrett

    Removing Dash Panels

The sill just pops up. place a flat screwdriver under the front or back and carefull lift up, then you can remove it the rest of the way, it just has clips. The 4X4 switch has two tabs, (one on each side), that hold it to the dash, depending on the size of your hands, you can reach from the...

    Removing Dash Panels

What kind of switches are you installing? FWIW, I installed these three 30A LED switches just by removing the 4X4 switch, drilling the three holes, and then running the wiring to them is a sinch (sp). Best way from back of cab to front is in the sill tray underneath the doors, IMO. I...

    Front bumper question.

    1. Yes, the bumper is a direct bolt on. 2. No, your 04 grill is too short as the 05-07 grills are taller. So, if you do the bumper, you do the grill. Hope it helps. Barrett
