    engine shut down

You know what I just read this. "No Crank/No Start; Vehicles with TorqShift Transmission: If this condition is occurs it may be due to a problem in the cooling fan electric clutch. This may be accompanied by transmission range sensor codes P1705 (TR not indicating neutral on self test), P0706...

    Oil cooler?

Do some google searches on it. In trucks that set the wrench light for ect vs. eot deltas this cooler will throw that light. It will allow deltas of around 30 degrees because it flows the coolant through the cooler to fast not allowing the heat transfer to occur. Bottom line is that it's not as...

    Wrench Light came on

Interesting this just started happening on my '05 wrench light comes on truck enters limp mode pull dtc's from tuner and get nothing. Pull over shut truck off restart and continue on my way. Only happens when pulling the 5th wheel which is usually around 14k.

    3.31 gears with taller tires

Ok so I just looked it up your stock tire should be 265/70R17 which measures 31.6". I did a similar jump from a 275/70R18 stock tire to a 35x12.50R20 on my truck and it ends up being roughly 8 revolutions a mile less. I see no problem with that difference. There's no lugging of the engine or...

    3.31 gears with taller tires

Yes the 6.7 6spd auto is geared differently than say the 5spd auto that I have in my 6.0 so the effects of a taller tire won't be quite as noticeable. My question for you is what size is your stock tire? My '05 came with a metric 33.2in tire and all the 4x4 6.7s I have seen have nearly a 34in...

    engine shut down

I had my fan clutch replaced already because it was locking up when commanded by the computer. I don't get why that would shut the truck down and not just trigger limp mode but it definitely should not stay engaged all the time. It's not hard to get to but the clutch is expensive. IIRC about $450.

    Axle ?

Most of them have a paper type gasket which having used several tend to leak. It doesn't look like LubeLocker makes a gasket for the Dana 80 so get yourself some good black or blue silicone rtv. Both are oil and heat resistant.

    Axle ?

75-140w It's a Dana 80 more then likely it could be a Sterling 10.25/10.50 but both of those rear ends take the same oil. Don't know if you have a limited slip or not but you can buy the oil by the quart or gallon with it already in it. If you want to be sure go to www.ringpinion.com and enter...

    OEM Gearsets

Not when that's what you do in your spare time. ;tu Working on a Jeep now then a 99 superduty going from 4.56s to 3.73s and more than likely a dodge wanting to drop from 4.10s down to 3.73s or lower. Unfortunately the dodge gears don't interchange and the 4.56s are just too low for me and I'd...

    Question standpipe/tube

Dave he's talking about the stand pipes and dummy plugs which are under the valve covers and feed the high pressure oil to the injectors. The new updated Ford parts have teflon o-rings vs. rubber and the kit for all four is $102 at Tousley.

    Question Best Head Gaskets

Black onyx for sure I've used them on several occasions and any head off of any type of motor should always be checked for warpage and decked if necessary or replaced if not within spec.

    OEM Gearsets

I have 35in tires my stock tire was a metric 33.1 per the door sticker. So it's not that much different than stock. Yes my coolant temps do stay within spec I just want to be able to use overdrive when towing the big trailer. When loaded we're rolling at almost 22k and there is no such thing as...

    OEM Gearsets

Has anyone here taken out a set of 4.10s from the 05+ 250/350 that they are willing to sell? I have 3.73s and absolutely hate towing the 5er with them.

    Outlook vs Insight

I have the original insight in a pod next to the a-pillar. I decided to go this route when I sold my banks six gun with palm pilot. I didn't want regular gauges on the a-pillar because you have to remove the handle and I've already ditched the factory steps and I really don't think my wife could...

05 6L losing coolant from degas cap AGAIN!!

Age is obviously a factor but for me being under 30 time has become equally important. Plus knowing that if someone else does it there is some sort of warranty with the work they are doing it's nice. I would much rather pay someone to do it and let them screw up and do it again then invest my...

    200,000 mile ESP?

Noticed you have a 450 what kind of mpgs do you get unloaded and pulling that 5er? Looking at a 450 for the next truck just heard about terrible mileage with the 4.30 gears.

    200,000 mile ESP?

I had a 5/100 had 6 of the 8 injectors replaced a month before it went out and 1 replaced under the factory 7/70 also egr/oil cooler replaced under it as well now that it's run its course I've deleted the egr. I will say this is the first vehicle I ever thought it was worth it to buy...

    2005 blueish/white smoke

With the times the way they are right now most dealers are more likely to drop the price. My dad's '99 Cummins lost an injection pump and fuel pump on the way back from the Oregon coast and had no choice but to have it towed to the nearest dealer and they quoted $3500. He told them he was going...

    Re-sealing the 5er problem

Yes I have an rv specific wash that cleans everything very well just not where the silicone film has been. It's almost like it pulls something out of the gelcoat when it cures and leaves behind something that attracts dirt but will not buff off with rv wax. I'm thinking I need to get a gelcoat...

    Re-sealing the 5er problem

So my father inlaw came down to re-seal his 5er toyhauler which is conveniently parked at my place. Now the RV specific sealant he was sold seems to leave a film behind that almost bonds to the gelcoat when you remove the excess with a razor blade almost like water spots but making it look...

Question Dana 60 High pinion (reverse) or regular?

It's a reverse cut hi pinion dana 60. All Hi pinion axles are reverse cut. As for the rear you must have the dana 80 drw and not the sterling 10.5 drw based on the 4.63 r&p.

    Speedo

Drain the rear diff fluid and take the sensor out and clean it really well. It stopped my gauge from bouncing around or going dead at times usually when the oil was cold.

    Question Parts to consider

It's the turbo oil drain tube it comes out when you lift off the turbo. Basically the updated part has a mandrel bend vs. a crimped bend allowing the oil to drain out of the turbo faster helping prevent burnt oil on the turbo after shutdown. If you want to see all the updated parts you can look...

Axle Swap - 02 to OBS

If your truck has the sterling 10.25 which it should you can actually swap the guts of a newer axle over to it. Or swap the entire sterling 10.5 in and swap your outer hubs on to the new axle so you retain your lug pattern and keep your same wheels.
