Help Needed 2005 6.0 Diesel Turbo issue

Sure sounds like a hole in the boots somewhere. I have seen this on the "pete" a couple of times. The "pop" noise, then the inspection to no avail. But everytime somebody would find a small hole blown into one of the boots in a tough place to get to. Check those boots very carefully, squeeze...

Help Needed Dash went crazy & no power!!

I don't kow if this will be any more help, or just a repeat of the previous posts, ut my brother in law has a '04 that did the same thing. Periodically the dash gauges would "wig" out like you describe, but the truck runs normal. We cleaned all the connections, replaced some cable ends, and...

    Got stuck today

That etched locker is new on me, but sounds cool. I may have to check them out for my newest off road project. I remember the days of wheelin in a jeep cherokee.... sep mine was a '89.... with front and rear lockers n 2lo in the tcase, that thing would go anywhere..... Just couldn't get a...

    Help Needed Vibration sound

That was my next call, i guess we can rule out cupped tires as the culprit. Does the noise change at all when turning or slowing down? What about motor mounts? if the motor is sitting on the frame it will make a noise like that. (worst case scenario i know)

FYI I't's rain'n here in Cali again..

I don't think it will be california again till those politicians pull they're heads out. I can think of several names for the place, none of which i would mention here. The bad thing is, when one stupid politician gets ousted, about 14 more come outta the woodwork to take his place. They have...

    RPM drop into overdrive

Sk8er32283, fill out your signature so we know what ur driving. It helps us know how to reply. My first guess is that is normal. The trans has the extra(overdrive) gear, and the torgue converter will lock up at higher speeds as well. Combine the two and it could feel that way.

Article Death of the Station Wagon?

We had a country squire also for a while when i was about 17, it was a real jewel. Dad bought it from some old man that bought it new. He kept it in the garage at all times. The wod grain looked like someone had just rubbed it down with pledge. That rear facing third seat pretty cool. But...

    Got stuck today

Sorry it took so long to get back on here, been rolling alot in cali. The arb lockers are great. The only down side is the o rings can leak inside the diff from time to time. It keeps the locker from locking in. But other than that they are awesome. They are expensive and time consuming to...

    Big Rig Fuel Tank Question

The only thing i wonder about, is the strain on the fuel pump sucking it outta the extra tank. I have buddies in the hotshot business who have just plumbed the extra tank into the filler neck of your existing tank, it just keeps your tank full for a long time. You odn't need to worry about...

    Got stuck today

Yep, the good thing about the selectable locker is, you can turn it on or off when needed. And you'd be surprised where you can go with the front and rear locked up in the snow. They also have electric lockers as well, so you don't have to mess with a compressor and stuff. They even have a...

    Clunk noise in front end

Another thing to keep in mind if the ball joints and shocks aren't the culprit, the brake caliper may be loose, or the pads inside of it may be moving up and down and hitting the caliper bracket. Seems kinda silly, but I've seen some be pretty noisy. Fwiw

    Speed

To add a little to BigJoe's comments above, the gear ratios ditrectly effect the way it drives (eg speed, and low end power for towing) There are formulas available to figure out the best ratio for you're needs, but you have to decide where most of you're time is going to be spent. Trucks are...

    serious electrical problem

x2 sikodiesel, it can be done with the test light also, just watch for the light to go out, or get noticeably dimmer. Sometimes the volt meter will be confusing, b ecause it will show a small draw even when everthing is ok, because of the clock n memory in the stereo, ecm ,ect. pull the fuses...

    Starting problem

All u can do is go for it, if it seems to get hard to turn, then maybe back off a little and try again. i know some people have left certain ones in that made em nervous, and just changed the others. But then u don't get and even heat job in all cylinders. Basicaly though, if the tip is...

    Speed

what kinda rpm's are you turning at 85 mph? if you're high in the rpm's you might be running out of oil to fire the injectors, the high pressure hpop may help. For sure you wanna go bigger with the injectors, with diesels, the fuel is what makes boost, and the boost makes power. If you go...

    True dual exhaust stacks

Yeah, stacks are like spandex biker shorts. Just cause they look good on some, don't mean it's ok for all. If you can't fill the pipes with smoke, than you got no business......

    Rain, Rain, Rain....

I was in Dfw when it was warm, and believe me, it sure didn't look like christmas down there to me. I was running around with my windows down, got a wasp in the window, and nearly wrecked trying to get it back out before it started drillin'!

Question What's Wrong with my Blower Motor

Sounds like you were dealing with the right connector, it may not be the resistor, but it sure sounds like it changed your symptoms. Maybe that connector just needs to be cleaned like Big Joe stated above.

    No 4x4 light

My bad on the self check guys, sure sounds like you've done a decent job of heading right for the most exspensive part. Only thing left is the module or the wiring between it and the switch or the relays. Long live the shift levers!

Question What's Wrong with my Blower Motor

That is a good one, My first thought would be a burned out blower moter resistor. I've seen some w/the resistor windings burned through but still touching occasionally. Might fit with the changing over bumps. But the turning of the steering wheel is a mystery....... Maybe some wiring rubbing...
